How to reach 1 million (and over)?

Do you guys have any thoughts on how to reach 1,000,000+ quality page impressions per month (legally) with little or no cost?

I get just shy of 1M pageviews a month, and have been maintaining my site for 6 years. I've probably put in 10K hours of time as well. Large opt in mail list, regular updates, lots of links, public relations, syndicated content network. You just grind through the various marketing methods one after the other. Eventually, after years, you get there.

The most important thing is to come up with a core idea for your website that visitors will find interesting and useful, and want to return to.
