I've been using Adsense for about 6 months now and only just found this forum which so far seems pretty neat!
Anyways, i run a website which offers flash games, funny animations, celebrity pictures and various jokes and humour pages. My unique visitor count is 200-300 per day with page views approximately 2000-3000 per day, so 50,000+ per month.
I've noticed on here people are making a lot more money with similar page views. At the moment i'm lucky to make a dollar a day - is this about right for a game site which is mainly objects instead of text? Or is it likely to be my advertising layout - i use a skyscraper advert down the left of the page.
I'd appreciated any recommendations or ideas to try and increase CTR.
Thanks a lot
Darren
Theres not much text on the pages that contain a object e.g. a Flash football game page will just contain a title for the game and the game itself. Google still provides enough ads to fill the skyscraper on all these pages though.
Look at some big games site. They all receive millions of impressions but little is running adsense. You do not need adsense in this case. Pay per impression is the best. Or maybe pop unders? :>
Most Pay Per Impression sites (especially any big ones such as fastclick or casalemedia) reject my site although never state their reason.
At present i use a combination of adsense and some CPA and CPL adverts from other places which work quite well although are very irregular.
The most success i had from the site was affiliating with Jamster on a pay per lead basis however all sales dried up after a month or so.
Thanks to everyone so far that has replied.
