I survived 2 weeks without checking my stats

Is this a record?

Just got back from a family holiday in Crete courtesy of Adsense earnings. I'm an avid checker, and to my surprise didn't go into a cybercafe once, or suffer withdrawal symptoms!

So it can be done.

Bet you thought about doing it every day though, eh?

It can be done in Crete where you are relaxed as a newt through the effects of Retsina, Raki and Ouzo. And the satisfaction achieved through the ingestion of copious amounts of feta cheese, moussaka, souvlaki and those honey soaked sweet pastry things. These all help take you mind off Adsense.

Unfortunately when I am away I have to check email because of other business commitments and if you are in an Internet Cafe you may as well have a wee look :)

Hope you had a nice holiday. I am hoping to get back to Crete in September for about the 6th or 7th time. Love it!

I used to check my stats almost twice an hour but during the last three weeks I managed to switch to checking them only 3-4 times a day ;)

must be a record. I took the family camping in Dordogneshire last August. Nice little log cabin, no tv, no comms, just beautiful views - left my Ipaq, laptop etc back at home.

There was an internet kiosk in the campsite bar - I think I managed nearly 2 days...

Maybe I'm too cautious - but I dont feel secure logging into my adsense account from a public computer with who knows what installed on it (keystroke recorders). If you ever do login from an internet cafe - change your password when you get back home!

I stayed off for 6 days back in November during my quintuple bypass. When I finally looked I had 3 record days in a row! IT is great to make money even when 'plugged in'.

Mostly when passing a cybercafe to be honest. We did miss the internet in general more than stats checking, as we are so used to looking things up on the spur of the moment.

Wow - hope things are OK with you now. The odd thing is that the stats whilst we were away were consistently above average - yesterday (first day of checking) the clicks, epc and earnings dropped. I'm wondering if there is a morale in there somewhere?

I checked my stats 20 times a day because i am spending money on pay per clicks. I wanna make sure that i'd come out profitable.

If you are getting free traffic, you dont need to worry about checking your adsense stats all the time.

This is the second time I've checked my AdSense stats in 3 months. Of course when you make like 8 cents a week with it, it's not really worth jumping in every 5 minutes :P

I shamelesly check my stats first thing in the morning and about 15 times during the day. Good news so far today - best day of the month, and it's only 5:00 ET.

speaking of internet access on vacations...do they have internet on cruise ships?

I bet they do, although I've never been on one.

I am a total addict. I check as many as 25 or 30 times a day. Especially when I have launched new pages and added new channels. The greatest thing is to open a beer, watch some tv and find out that I have earned 10 dollars enjoying myself in front of the tv. That's kind of childish isn't it?

Yes, they have your basic internet cafe type set up. Also, I went on a celebrity cruise last year and they had a set up where you can hook up your laptop in your room. $25 USD per day plus minutes. Extremely slow connection. On cloudy days I couldn't even log in to my email. They did refund most of the money.

The longest I went without checking stats, 11 days.

<added> I should add that the internet lounge did have a high speed conection, just the room hook ups were slow.

Well, I've been in China a week and not checked a thing until today and I am HORRIFIED!

On my return to my office over the weekend Adsense will be totally removed from all my sites since my earnings are now down a further 25% from the 20% reduction in the previous couple of weeks.

Goodbye G!
