Adsense: low CPM, lot of PSA. Should I switch to CPM?

Adsense vs Burst/fastclick in similar cases

Hi All,

I integrated adsense into my website about 2 months ago. My page CPM is about 1.25$, and by comparing PageViews count in Adsense CP with the real figure, I see that PSA ads are shown 75% of the time.

I see people talk about CPM of 4-5$ as the industry standard. That made me think about joining a CPM program (such as fastclick) and probably drop adsense.

To my surprise, FastClick rejected my website (it's a forum), so I'm wondering, should I remove adsense ads and reapply again? what are your experience with Burst and the other (CPM) agencies?

Any input would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,
-k

you are going to struggle, not only to get an agency to take a forum but also to get above 1.25. Don't know what industry you are in obviously but >$1 is much more common.

If Adsense is not working for you, try the banner ad networks. Fastclick is a bit picky in choosing their sites. Try Burst or Tribal Fusion. They might work for you. For me though, these banner ad networks can only buy me a McDonald's meal per day, while Adsense can buy me a whole week's grocery.

Tribal fusion is still showing some fair earnings but I am looking around for something to replace Fastclick...they seem to have taken a nose dive.

The ads are terrible and for the most part, low paying. you also have to go there everyday just to shut off the more annoying ones that would drive your visitors away in droves!

Guess I will sit tight for awhile, adsense is making fairly good money for me so I can hang on to FC until Yahoo ads start up....Hopefully they will outperform FC and TF
