Did anyone else have a failed EFT payment? I hope I don't have to wait until the end of May to get paid, or I am really in deep trouble...

I remember the email noted that if it failed you had to wait a pay cycle (30 days)

If you email them - maybe they will cut you a check?

let us know how it goes - as this is something everyone will need to watch for moving forward

My EFT worked fine (to Belgium), only (big) concern is that they have a Dublin address on the payment (i.e. not a US one, but one inside the EU), which could potentially change considerably VAT issues.

On services inside the EU VAT is due (with a list of exceptions, that have exceptions themselves, and even those have exceptions, ...) big mess to get into such things with something as large as Google as partner.

My payment page says EFT failed, payment on hold
I e-mailed them as I cannot wait 30 days for another cheque and I need it ASAP

That's why I chose secure express delivery this month. That warning about it being BETA was enough to put me off. When I sold my house back in the states, forty-five grand went missing for a week because of a tiny typo error the bank clerk made on my wire order. (I didn't catch it because the wire was sent by my attorney as I'd already moved.)

I'm upset that my express check isn't getting here any faster than snail mail would, but I'd be dead meat if I had to wait a month because of a failed EFT.

I was overjoyed to see in DHL's tracking that my check was in Halifax at nine this morning, just an hour away. Then I was dismayed that the FedEx deadline passed with no check. (My bank is in the US.) The tracking showed that it wasn't put on the truck until 4 PM. #*$!? I paid THIRTY BUCKS for this kind of service? If I'd asked for snail mail, I'm sure I would have had it by today.

DHL moves at a snail's pace. I see no reason why a document couldn't have gotten from Dublin to Halifax overnight. FedEx from anywhere in the US reaches me overnight. Instead, IF I get it tomorrow, it will have been six days since Google gave the check to DHL.

"Express"?

From what I've read, it seems that the snail mail was quicker than the secured delivery.

It seems Google really needs to make payment easier for their advertisers (despite improved payment methods)

How's about a few thousand adsense publishers email adsense support and ask that Google use FedEx next time instead of DHL? Point out - politely - that using the lowest bidder isn't always the best way to save money.

I've never had any problem with FedEx, and their tracking is a lot better.

swa66: I have not received the FET yet but if the address is from Dublin then this is going to be quite a pain (20% VAT paid without need...).

For a 20% difference in VAT, I would return to mailed checks ...

EDIT: I wonder if this depends on your preferences (Dollar vs Euro).
Has any European adsenser received the EFT in Dollars?
If yes, where did it originate from?

Fedex is very, very dependable, but expensive...I am still waiting to hear back from Adsense support :/

The bank transfer had this info:
FROM:
BFS RE GOOGLE ADSENSE
GUILDHOUSE
DUBLIN
NOTE:
GOOGLE ADSENSE

If the tax people see this they'll automatically assume transactions inside the EU. With the blurry Internet status, their first assumption will be hard to change.

Worse, the account originating the money has a regular Belgian number, creating an assumption of an in-country sale which is _always_ subject to VAT, (21% out here) ... Google would be able to get it back though if they do it through Google Belgium.

I'm afraid the last word has not been said about this.

Hmmmm... This whole tax thing is interesting... Worrying, but interesting. I am located in Holland and my EFT payment says Dublin as well. I dont really feel like paying this 19% VAT we use over here...

Does anyone know how to handle this?

You would have to wait another month for a failed secure delivery or a failed airmail, so a failed EFT is no different.

I would say EFT is still the safest and most reliable of them all. Less chance of it getting lost in transit since it's all electronically sent.

Anytime the payment doesn't make it, you have to wait 30 days for a re-issue, that's just their standard terms.

Seems I'll be waiting 30 days - I depend on this income though; this really isn't fair

I had a similar problem. I was affliated 1997 to 1999 with an US telephone callback service.

I got the money from the chief of all European affliants in Germany direct in DM.

At a tax audit 2002, the inspectr asked for this, but it was possible to proof, that this is money paid from the US callback telephone company.

Just got the Google ETF in Italy.
apart the usual VAT problem, they labeled the EFT as "Stipendio" (italian for "wage").
This is absolutely WROOONG! A wage must have a lot of other things (social security, just to mention one)

Mine still says 'Payment in progress' and yes this tax would worry me on EFT. Do business pay a lot of tax in Spain?

Sorry to hear your touble guys however this was precisely why I did not go for an EFT and opted for a regular UK Sterling check made out in my name which I can bank wherever I like:-)

The cheque arrived the following day after payment was approved.

The simple option for you all is to take the local cheque option however I have no idea from where yours would be issued.

Just as an added note, I received my UK cheque from London on 28th April however we are still awaiting an approved Dollar cheque for the same period!

Yes, we have two accounts, please don't ask how it's from the early days of Adsense.
