Hi There

been running Adsense just under two months now and today my CTR has jumped to 10% with 43 clicks off 394 impressions, my usual rate is down around 2.5-3% on the 8-9000 impressions mark.

Should i send a query to google in case someone is trying to get me banned or does this thing happen every now and then.

Cheers,
hughie

It happens quite often. Get concerned if your CTR at the end of the day is very unusually high.

It happens to me too once in a while. I sometimes start the day with 7% CTR and end up at 3% by the end of the day. Maybe just a delay in the impressions stats.

will see how things go, cheers for that.

After reading about people getting banned on here a week or so ago, i want to stay one step ahead and make sure i ask the question of google before they come and ask me!

Mine took a massive jump today too, at around mid-day (UK) from the usual 5% to 20%! First time I've seen this kind of jump in over 2 years of using Adsense.

First thing I did - check my logs for unusual entries. Nothing unusual was found, so I too will have a look at the end of the day.

400 impressions is far too small a sample to draw any conclusions.

it's settling down to around 4% off 3500 impressions now.

Looks to me like one or two people had a bit of a click-fest on the adverts early on and then it's been back to normal since then.

ta for the advice

Actually, I am convinced the impressions do not update at the same time as the clicks, thereby skewing the CTR.

Happens to me all the time. Don't sweat it.

some advice for you, you should get a adsense tracking php / mysql script very usefull, you se witch ads are beeing clicked on etc.. + you se the IP off users that click them.. Witch is great to detect if some one is trying to get you banned!

my 0.2 cents!
