your browser will now remember your prior report settings each time you select a report
Need a way to disable this feature as it's already causing me more trouble than it's worth.
The feature works as advertised and after I ran my "this month" report I closed the window without thinking twice about it. A few seconds later SysSense popped up with a HUGE number, way bigger than my midday number should be, and sure enough it was the total from Friday, April 1, 2005.
Ran a quick test and sure enough, whatever state I leave AdSense reports in is what total I now get in SysSense for the first item on the list. If I dont remember to reset the report back to TODAY before I close AdSense then the SysSense monitor is useless.
Anyone run into this with other monitor programs?
SysSense monitor still works as long as I remember to exit with "today" as the report being run.
It's still usable, just inconvenient to use thanks to Google changing the default report that several programs seem to rely on. I think Google should give us an API to access this information without trying to fish for it in the HTML of the web page. It's an obvious feature many people want, a simple thing really, yet they keep ignoring us and breaking what little we have with silly little changes.
But not when they change a screen layout that may break some screen scraping software.
Yes, that's what they are all doing as Google refused to supply an API, therefore all the monitor programs are rather crude scrapers and every time Google makes HTML changes every relying on them take a hit.
The sign of a REALLY mature company is to provide the API's your customers need in the first place.
I'm sure one of those PhD's could crank out some AdSense XML interface thing in a week or two, but then again 302 redirect is still an issue, I digress.
In this case though I would like to see an option for the user to pick a preferred report. I check my stats quite often, so I really thought it was a great thing to have the last used report show up at the beginning. It is just annoying when I check specific channels at the end and they show up the next time.
I agree. That's what we do with AdSenseLog: We keep updating it and supporting our users... I don't think it is fair to ask Google to take these programs into account!

[edit reason] No signatures, thanks! [/edit]
I'm complaining primarily because we shouldn't have to depend on locating information on an HTML page.
They need to step up the game and be more professionsal with AdSense like they did with the AdWords API.
This wouldn't even be an issue if Google supplied an XML API for access to AdSense data.
Simple solution to a stupid problem.
