Hi

I just noticed something I haven't noticed before - I seem to have CTR ranging from .4 to 1.6% these days (Feb 1 - Feb 9), and I was just curious..Is this just me or did happen for other people aswell? My regular CTR is .1-.3%, and the 1.5% day really surprised me..I would just like to know if anyone else experienced it, as it could very well be a competitor creating invalid clicks, in which case I would email google and ask them to investigate.

I don't think you're supposed to give real numbers here, but I can tell you that my CTR has been in totally strange places the past few days - basically off by about 75% the norm.

Last night I rearranged the my top earning page - which triggered new ads. And the CTR is back up to normal.

So it could be "ad blindness", but again a lot of hard to explain things happening.

As has been mentioned, higher paying keyword content areas seem to be more subject to these swings due to rapidly changing market conditions - and probably a much small number of bidders.

Did you change your ad layout? add new pages?

Or was this static?

Well, I use adsense mainly on a forum, so it could have been posts that triggered high-ranked ads..I'm not sure. I will see if they approve my payment later this month, it might just have been good days for my site aswell. *shrugs*

As often as Adsense changes their targeting abilities, you can expect ups and downs of all your metrics. Normal stuff.
