New changes to the channels format

I think it's really slow and the reason why so many of us have had trouble the past few days. I don't understand the point. I have to scroll further for custom channels. I vote nay.

what changes to the channels format, if you'd be so kind to elaborate?---not where I can log into my account at the moment

They changed the way that you can select channels. There are on/off checkboxes next to each, AND a feature that I find very handy, and was not mentioned so far: A "Select: Active/Inactive/All/None" feature. I like that as I sometimes found it awkward to select all the active channels in the old format.

Seeing the full URLs for custom channels is great. I heard from several publishers who found it hard to tell which custom URLs they were, since they were truncated in the channel menu.

With the old format you could select a range of channels by clicking on the first, then pressing shift and clicking on the last, very useful to select all channels from a specific website. Now I don't think is possible to do that.

But why the checkboxes? The old one you could just click and drag or click-shift-click. Now you have to manually click each box. Grrr.

The select status option is nice sure, but they've mixed it with an inferior layout.

I just wish they'd improve the reporting aspect. I'd like the ability to view the channels with full names in alphabetical order, and to either select channels with checkboxes from the list or (better yet) be able to view a month's worth of data for all the channels without having IE or Firebox lock up.

manual clicking is a drag. it's also a drag that the it doesn't work with Safari.

It's less convenient, less orderly and slower than the previous format!

data by channels is a splendid improvment. Let's get our epc back and payments by wire and Adsense will fly again ( for us)

I preferred the way it was with two scrolling areas, one for URL channels and one for custom channels.

I preferred the way it was without the check boxes. Selecting a range of channels was possible then but is tedious now with check boxes.

My vote is for undoing these changes.

Tuesdays are very busy, lets compare them with previous tuesdays..

They don't even work very well. I selected, reselected and unselected and soon had every value tripled in the list.

Give me back the old format please.

I'm not impressed. And is there anyway to make that channels selection box narrower? If they make that page any wider I'm going to have to print it landscape on 8.5 x 14 inch paper, andget a widescreen monitor.

So, you have that problem too? No matter what browser I use IE, Netscape 7.0, or Firefox, it locks up the browser when trying to view a full months worth of channel data. Has been doing that for while now... (forget if it started after intro of URL channels)

Through the looking glass once more ... fiddling around with the new report format, I found the "missing money." The aggregate by-date report continues to show my diverse, 100,000+ impressions/day site having plunged to pocket change since last Friday. But running individual channel reports shows earnings about normal.

This is exactly the reverse of what we've come to expect. Normally, the channel reports are running behind and the aggregate reports are up to date.

I will say, life is never dull with Google around though after a certain age, such daily drama is a bit taxing.

The problem didn't occur until fairly recently. I definitely was able to view a month's worth of data without locking up my browser until two or three weeks ago.

BTW, I like the suggestion of an option for "the last four Mondays" (or whatever day of the week one might choose). That would be a useful statistic with or without channels.

Click Display Report to view statistics for the selected criteria.

i think the checkbox idea is good if google allowed you to save the boxes that were checked instead of having to click them everytime you log in. They already have ALL, ACTIVE, and some others.. but maybe 3 user defined ones or something.

i prefer the old way ... where i could use shift to select a bunch of them .. now i have to go through and click individually .. annoying
