31 was low revenue, but the 1st of April is 50% of 31.03.2025
very strange numbers.

Thanks
The only danger is if AI replaces the types of Tripadvisor and becomes the ultimate judge for our decision….

Since the end of February we experience massive drop of coverage on US/CA sites down to 75-80%.
RPM follows.

Anybody has the same?

Or any advice?

@770change,

same here, around the 26th of February, it just flatlined for me, and it has not recovered since.

But today RPM went down to a new level, the worst I have ever seen, did this happen to anyone else?

A lot of ad slots are not being filled on my websites. I have more empty slots than I can ever remember. I think it’s just indication of how nervous businesses are with the economic instability. The post election numbers were very good, but now everything has tanked.

We are living in turbulent times, the global economy is in chaos, consumer confidence is very low, and it's a given that it would affect adsense, because it is affecting most businesses as well, and Google and us publishers need them, because the ad inventory is getting lower and lower.

Yesterday and today, RPM and CPC have increased compared to the past two months. They're still lower than they were last year, but at least I can be happy when there's a glimmer of hope for something positive.

Have been noticing an uptick in RPM and earnings since Saturday myself.

At this point I am just checking the news in YT about Tariffs to predict the RPM.
New Tariffs = Lower RPM
Tariff Excemption = Higher RPM

Things are back to the old bad normal (of late) here, after some improvement on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. :-(

Yesterday and today CPC and RPM have once again been cut in half. Politics is definitely affecting us publishers more and more each day. I'm 100% sure of it.

AIO’s just hit one of my segments today. Seems like I’m impacted more by AIOs than anything else.

The fallout from this will be interesting for us...

"Google holds illegal monopolies in ad tech, US judge finds"

[reuters.com...]

"The decision clears the way for another hearing to determine what Google must do to restore competition in those markets, such as sell off parts of its business at another trial that has yet to be scheduled. It is the second court ruling that Google holds an illegal monopoly, following a similar judgement in a case over online search."

Traffic from the USA has dropped by half this week on my sites. This is having a huge impact on my earnings because US traffic has the highest Impression RPM for me.

@MayankParmar
Ezoic takes DNS control and you need to point dns to their nameservers.
This gives them domain level control and they bombard each page with 7-8 or even 10 ads and this number increases slowly as they start analyzing your traffic.
They have access to premium advertisers, so their CPM (earlier CPC) is slightly higher than you get directly from adsense.
But that difference is taken by them as commission.
In few weeks, you may start earning more but user experience is completely damaged as people will stop visiting your site to avoid reading content in between 8-10 ads.
Also due to DNS change, your pages will load slower.. ads first, content next..
Think like a visitor.. will you like visiting your own site ?

I appreciate that this thread has "April 2025" in its title for a reason. However, having been in this business for a very long time, my view is that the key factor is the long-term trend rather than short-term fluctuations—however tempting it may be to focus on them.

What I've experienced (and I doubt it's untypical) is that revenue, whether measured per click or by impressions, has steadily declined over the years. That’s why more and more websites have added subscription or donation options.

The trend is presumably the result of relatively inelastic demand for ads versus highly elastic supply of ad placement options. The big recent change has been the rise of zero-click searches, with search engines increasingly trying to keep users within their ecosystems—much like social media platforms or app stores.

Therefore, it's likely we’ll see fewer and fewer independent websites surviving in the coming months and years.

Has anyone else noticed a lot of blank ad spots on your sites? I started seeing this yesterday in my sites, and it's continuing today.

@allhearts

My blank as slots started over a month ago. Businesses in the USA are scared. And my CPM is spectacularly low today.

@gatormark,

Same here, everything across the board was already down, but since yesterday it is even worse.

Since Google SEARCH is dead, it's the same as well with ADSENSE. Super dead.

500,000 page views yesterday, 50 cent rpm. This week Apr 21st and 22nd are lower rpms than last week for me.

u mean u got 250 dollars for 500.000 page views?

maindvv

Yeah very bad. I have anchor, 2 display ads on every page, and vignette 2 minute. On the third week I had AdSense I got 1 million page views and 700$ in 1 day. But over time my rpm has decreased.

The one thing I have noticed since Good Friday till now is that, like the stock markets, Page RPM has crashed, significantly affecting my earnings. :-(

The difference between Adsense RPM and the markets is that markets are starting to recover while Adsense is continuing on a downward trend. AdSense is probably more representative of the wider economy, my feeling is that businesses have become weary and are reluctant to spend on anything that isn't essential. In other words businesses are reducing ad spend. Why pay for ads when consumers aren't buying. It's grim, it's global and the full impact of this fiasco wont be felt for months to come.

As has been noted in the past:

"It's the economy, stupid!"

... and always has been. Meanwhile, there's no doubt that g has put a thumb on the scales to their benefit, that part can NOT be ignored.

Last 2 days coverage is up to 94+%, that happened two months ago last time.
Rpm breaks december-24 records.
What do you have?

@770change,

RPM is actually okay today, just ok, but up by $7 from yesterday, so I will take it.
