AdSense Earnings and Observations - April 2024

March 24 vs March - 8 % ( due to SEO punishing 8 of my websites)
Increasing contributions to the revenues: rewarded ads probably from Offerwall (beta)
Awaiting the monthly clawback surprise….

Business is business
Nothing to do with politics
In my views using Bruxelles (I m happy not to contribute to their high salaries) is a lost of time.
It sounds like nationalising an airline because it doesn t offer the business class at the same price as eco.
If I had lost 90 % of my revenues, I would:
- ask why others have maintained or even increased their revenues
- question my content and/or traffic
- or close my account as a matter of dignity.

May be a question of generation where experienced people keep the tenacity to fight without blaming others compared to a spoiled generation that quickly gives up without fighting.
Good Luck with the Eurobureaucrates who really don t care about publishers.

Adding that the same Eurodeputies are the one who are behind the last years reduction of revenues by imposing to Google non sense rules , ads blockers and other consent rules (liberte , egalite, bureaucratie).
Last but not least: Google has the right to keep secret their way to filter good traffic from BS as they have to protect their economic model.
The day they share how they detect invalid traffic will be the last day of Google.
Adsense has got no contractual obligation with the publishers this implicates: take it or leave it or better enhance your websites.

The EU is with its strict privacy laws, directly and indirectly, responsible for the loss of probably 1/4 of our revenue (with unnecessary consent models), so I prefer to stay as far away from the EU and its laws as possible.

@ Daniel1213

In 2019 the EU imposed a euro 1.5 bln fine on Google for abusive practices in online advertising.
Please ask your „deputy representatives“ to return this money to the publishers.

Back the business:
April is looking quite positive with 18 % plus against April 2023 same periode.
Despite SEO massacre and other challenges.

@Sissi: I am always perfectly in agreement with what you say. And I also think that there's a generational issue. In my case, I'm looking for a solution, but I see a lot of people on all forums EXIGING a solution. I fought during the significant drop in income that started for me in January 2022 and didn't stop until February of this year. I made modifications, tests, comparisons of different approaches over several months on various sites to try to understand what Google Adsense needs (traffic / source of traffic / ad placement / content / retention time on the page / interaction with the page (not session time)) to show me ads that bring in more revenue and have fewer empty slots. It was very hard, I sacrificed several weekends. I managed to slow down the fall. And in February, I think I was rewarded for all my work over the last two years.

@dolcevita: Totally agree, my European traffic, by that I mean from countries that are members of the European Union. Fortunately, this represents less than 20% of my traffic across all my sites.

In my case, I am here to exchange, I monitor a lot what happens on my sites daily, I look at Adsense as soon as I wake up and I check Adsense before going to bed. But I never claim victory, if the needs of Adsense change I will have to adapt again. And on top of that, I'm always looking for ways to increase my earnings with new sites or other acquisition strategies.

@Sissi: For me, it's only 10:45 AM, and the total for the 4.5 days 2024 compared to the 5 days of 2023 shows an increase of 28.7%. I'm expecting a +36 or +37% by the end of the day. And I'm praying that it continues like this.

@Loboblahz
Nice to read tenacity against exigence.
The last 18 years with Adsense I have always considered an end for this great adventure every month.
Despite nice revenues that have allowed me to finance several personal projects , I have never considered quiting my first job. But have used my expertise for a specifc sector (high RPM) combined with 3 languages to develop websites without Wordpress or Facebook.
Adsense is not Tiktok where BSter try to make money on an easy way. This is over.Being publisher includes responsibilities and resilience.
And seing some reactions here, at the end, it s a good move from Adense to maintain good revenues for hard workers and clean publishers ( not suggesting that all „victims“ of the last drop are not clean)

Adsense is often blamed for poor revenue, but all too often Adsense revenue is the result of a change in SERP to Google or, in smaller cases, the passing of California law or EU law where we are forced to seek consent from visitors.

I have been using Adsense for 19 years and in 85% of cases my Adense revenue was a result of SERP for my pages.

So if there is a jump in SERP, in traffic by approximately 25%, then my Adsense revenue will also be higher by 20% to 30%. Conversely, if my website loses positions, if traffic drops by 25%, then it will directly affect our Adsense revenue, which will be lower by 20% to 30%.

Year after year, it is more difficult to be at the top of SERPs with Google, and thus it is more and more difficult to earn the same money as 5, 10 or 15 years ago.

^ This is all very true.

The industry has changed quite a bit over the last 15yrs. More industry regulation, more online competition, uncontrollable SERP fluctuations, and a refined ad spend approach by advertisers.

One of the regular exercise to enhance revenues is also to deactivate the cheap ads of downloading and other craps.

I have analyzed the past few years and yes, I have overlooked this part. Currently, for me, it's also the school holidays until April 12th. Based on what I observe, I should start seeing the nice figures again from April 14th. Nevertheless, I am still above last April's numbers. That's why I was saying I want to wait until the end of April to get a better idea of the situation.
But the worst months for me start from mid-June to the end of August. But that's normal.

For the last 7 days
CTR + 20 %
Clicks + 18 %
RPM + 15 % that s what counts at the end
Adsense is back !

Anyone see a big drop in Vignette impressions over the weekend? My impressions were down 50% specifically for Vignettes over the weekend. Traffic was normal otherwise.

"...this revenue model is on its deathbed."

By "this" you have to mean Google. They suck. Period. For months, I've seen users here changing this, that, everything, blah, blah, blah. Google is sh-T, like most of what used to be Europe, America. Pathetic. Disgusting.

Glad I own gold and silver. Times (and money) are changing. BRICS+ FJB.

@fearlessrick : I'm somewhat perplexed as to the relevance of your message in this thread specifically dedicated to "AdSense Earnings and Observations for April 2024". While I respect a diverse range of opinions and perspectives, I struggle to see how criticism of Google, references to current socio-economic conditions, geopolitics, and the mention of investment in precious metals contribute to our discussion focused precisely on AdSense earnings and observations for this month. Could you perhaps shed more light on how these elements fit into this thread and how they might help us better understand or optimize our AdSense strategies and results?

Weak start today

I agree with Loboblahz, this place should remain a constructive platform despite all depressions and frustrations. Learning from each others is the right way.

I'm getting burned out continuing my sites. Google not giving good traffic anymore and AdSense is capitulating. Even getting a new well built site approved is becoming a hassle. I am very close to letting most my sites "die". i don't see AdSense improving anytime soon with AI playing a major hand.
