After the CPM earthquake and the generic drop of earnings I'm seeing for my website, I read some people recommending to increase the number of ads.

I'm trying to find an optimal Impressions/PageViews ratio. Currently, mine is around 3-4 for not too short pages, with 8-15 paragraphs and maps. I insert 5 ads manually into the code (one above the folder and the rest scattered around the page), and I've set the 'auto load' to around 75% for 'in-page' formats. It seems that not all of them are actually showed.

Any feedback/tip is welcome.

My stats:

  • In the last 7 days, 95% CPM vs 5% CPC. In the last three years, 17% CPM vs 83% CPC

  • My earnings are dropping in February 25% Y/Y

  • My CTR has been 5-6% in the last years, and remains constant in the last days. Is it high or low?

Increasing the number of ads on your website can potentially boost earnings, but it's essential to find the right balance to maintain a positive user experience. Aim for an Impressions/Pageviews ratio that doesn't overwhelm visitors while maximizing ad visibility. Monitor ad performance metrics like CPM, CPC, and CTR to assess effectiveness and make adjustments accordingly. Your current CTR of 5-6% is relatively high and suggests good engagement with your ads.
