AdSense Earnings and Observations - September 2023

Surprisingly August earnings matched July earnings to a tee in terms of revenue, and this on fewer impressions / sessions no less.

You really cant gauge what you're going to get month-to-month.

I notice a lack of clicks, low cpc and a drop in google traffic all contributing to lower earnings.

Same here. After the recent update, traffic as well as income both declined. And I was excited for Q4.

This full year earnings are not more than December 2022 earnings. Very bad year.

Another terrible start to the day. 13 clicks? I usually have around 40 by 2am. Whatever Google did with that update, they should undo it.

For my business, my fiscal year is September through August. I start it when school is in full swing.

One thing that I have learned is that you continue to advertise even when things are bad. Mistakenly, advertising spending is one of the first things businesses cut when revenue is decreasing. Maintaining your ad spending will allow you to be in a much better position when the economy turns around. Unfortunately, the USA's economic outlook for 2024 is worse than 2023. Forecasters see U.S. economic growth slowing to 1.3% in 2024 from 2.2% this year. However, I can see a turnaround in 2025, depending on the 2024 election results.

This has been the worst day of the year/probably ever for me, from three digits a day forever to barely just over a single digit today.

Throughout the years it has increased, even during the pandemic, but this last update has not been good to be honest, I see a drastic difference.

I have and continue adding unique content to my sites, so if this can happen to me, I'm sure it's happpening to others as well.

Time will tell in about a week where I stand when this update comes to an end, earnings usually recover after an update but we will see.

I feel like just when things start to get good, an update comes along that stops it. Google know exactly what they’re doing and who they’re doing it to.

August was pretty good for me, with good traffic and earnings, better than in previous years. Even September was doing good until this update butchered everything, and now it just keeps getting worse.

I don't think this latest content update just when some of us were starting to recover was a coincidence, I hope I'm wrong but we will see.

With Student Debt payments restarting in October and Oil prices increasing, I don't think Q4 will be good. I hope I am wrong.

New update coming on the 31st. Adsense will move primarily to real-time bidding auctions and will no longer respond to multiple calls in mediation.

Lost 50% traffic after recent google update. Adsense was dead and now traffic is on decline. End of blogging journey. Google can kill any online business anyday. Better to go with some business offline.
