Just an FYI, noticed this in my account settings yesterday that Adsense has added an Ad Blocking Recovery option under Privacy & Messaging.

You can set a prompt for users using adblockers to allow ads on your site. You can specify the domain this is associated to and personalize / customize it some.

Worth a look.

Interesting. Wonder how effective that will be in real life?

Those running ad blockers are not likely to be swayed, but perhaps a few will be if the site is compelling and of sufficient value to the user.

Which kind of prompt? The one that says “If you don’t disable your ad blocker we will not let you view the site”, or the kind that says “We’d take it as a right kindness if you’d be so good as to disable your ad blocker, but aside from this recurring guilt-tripping, we certainly won’t insist” ?

I haven't used Ad blocking recovery for about 6 months. According to AdSense, 5% of my users have ad blocker extension. 22K messages have been shown to users, 6% of users decided to allow ads.

Interesting! That's 6% more than you would have ordinarily had. Any way to correlate actual income by the users changing their minds?
