I really hope someone can help me.

I am trying to get monetized with my Youtube channel and meet all the requirements. My channel is "My Account".

I keep getting an email from Google Adsense:
You already have an AdSense account. Thanks for your interest in AdSense. Did you know you already have another AdSense account that you could use? AdSense only allows one account per person. To get started with AdSense, you can either: 1.Continue using your existing account, associated with (other account I do not own) If you can’t access this account, follow the steps in our ........

I do not own the (other) account. This account is actually my ex-husband's account but he has had this account for over 20 years and I just started "My Account" in the past few years. We have separate accounts I do not know why Google is linking our accounts together.

How can I get google to unlink these accounts or how do I go about getting monetized with this issue?

It took me a while to gain over 4000 subscribers and my channel is growing very nicely but if I can't get the AdSense working then I can't make a living being a creator?

Please help

Thank you
Sincerely
Nicole Courtemanche

There are two solutions to your problem.

Solution 1:
Contact your ex and ask him to remove any information in the account which relates to you. My guess would be that there is still a mailing address that coincides to your address, or something to that affect. Find what the problem is and fix it. This seems simple but fixing it may be more difficult that you would expect.

Solution 2:
Incorporate, create a company for which you are the sole owner/shareholder, and then use the company name/address to create the AdSense account. If you expect to " make a living being a creator" then it is probably a good idea regardless, as it limits your personal liability and likely provides some tax advantages. Depending on where you live the cost of incorporation can be quite low and well worth the investment.

Hi Nicole and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

Apologies for the edits, but we do not discuss specific accounts so I've anonymized your post to remove those details. We prefer to educate webmasters to make their own judgements, rather than discuss specifics of any site. The welcome link above can help you with how things work and how to use features. We're here to help each other do better.

NickMNS offers some good suggestions to start with.

Hi there,

i would try to post this in the adsense community. Maybe the product experts will forward this to the right team.
