According to Google on this page...

Your business name, business domain (if provided) and your publisher ID will appear in the Google sellers.json file. We encourage you to keep your information public to best help advertisers verify your inventory. Learn more

Mine is currently Confidential. Should this make a difference, as Google are suggesting it should be public (i.e Transparent)

Confusing though as I'm not a seller. But it's still giving me the option.

You are a seller in Google's definition. You are selling ad-space on your web properties and earning money for it through their AdSense payments. Your inventory is the set of ad-slots available on the pages of your web properties.

The information is used in the auction back-end where buyers of ad-space can decide if they want to advertise on your site. The more advertisers are willing to bid on your ad-slots, the higher the resulting price will be. Being transparent on who is selling the ad-space may influence the decision of the buyers.

Adding transparent company information is up to you. If your company name is "Spamming & Hacking Ltd" for example, you may want to keep it private ;)

I guess, what I'm asking here is this.

Do you think it will increase earnings, by changing from Confidential to Transparent?

Will it result in more people entering the auction and bidding for ad space on my site?

100% transparent will increase earnings likely due to more bidders. They'll be buyers who may only bid on transparent inventory whereas I doubt they'll be buyers who would only choose to advertise on confidential inventory.

Someone has to try one week each and report back. Because there's zero proof it does anything.

Hello,

I left my "profile" in "Confidential". I saw no difference, excepting that my earnings are increasing over the last year.

I disabled all third parties ad networks since a long time, so may be the sellers.json is for these third parties only.

Interested to know why would one do this. Happy to create a new topic if needed.

Hello,

Third party ad networks, are full of junk, and deceptive ads... also, a few years ago, when I decided to disable them they accounted for 5% of my adsense earnings. So I removed them, and, may be it's coincidence, my earning increased.

What route do you go inside Adsense to turn these 3rd party ad networks off?

Hello,

What route do you go inside Adsense to turn these 3rd party ad networks off?

Blocking controls > Content > All sites > Manage Ad Networks

And there, the joy begins, because, since a couple of years, you have to disable each ad network , one by one , and the more are disabled, the slower the page is to refresh ! When I did it, it took me several days to disable the 5000+ ad networks. (I was doing sessions of 30 minutes, because it was so bothering and long).

Now, if you change your mind, guess what, you need to re-enable them one by one too, and here you go for hours/days. #NeverStopTheFun

edit: you'll notice that tens are labelled "do not use", or "outdated", or things like that, so I wonder why t hey are still "active"...

edit 2 : just to say, this is what I did, but, it doesn't mean I recomand it, so do this at your own risk, this certainly has unpredictable impact depending of niches, user profile, etc... this can drastically hurt your ad inventory too.
