Try to setup Google Admanager and than use also header bidding and serve ads of affiliates. Problem is that most publishers are lazy and not willing to setup Google Admanager 😉

Not sure it's always lazyness, Admanager can be a bit of a steep learning curve which puts people off. It's not exactly intuitive ! :)

I had never heard of Ad Manager before, just tried signing up for it, says I'm eligible, but when I click signup I get redirected to the main page again.

Can't remember now but you should be able to login with your Adsense credentials I would have thought ?

I try signing in and it just brings me to the Get Started page, I fill in all the credentials and when I click on Sign Up it just brings me back to the Get Started page, I must be doing something wrong.

The issue was, I already had an account but using a different email.

It looks like AdManager is the DoubleClick, i don't know how it works now but before DoubleClick was the place where you can combine your own affiliates with adsense to get better coverage.

Do I have to link my adsense account or is it automatically done by google?

Another question,

Do I have to place new ad codes on my sites or can I use my current adsense codes?

I wasn't kidding when I said I was a newbie to this lol.

Your Adsense ads can compete with other networks or you can use them as fill-up. You've to make new units but when that's done you can easily add all kind of ads. For example I use affiliate ads, ads to promote my Facebook and Twitter pages, help visitors to sign up at my website and use ads for landing pages with other affiliates. It's also competing with header bidding.

I experienced a hard drop in clicks today (April 9) from average of 1700 clicks to just 600 clicks (impressions are dropped to by 33%)

CPC is quite normal for me (no abnormal drop/raise) (between 0.011 to 0.013)

Is most of your traffic from the Philippines or India? My numbers are usually notoriously low from those two countries.

I have an Arabic website (most visitors are from Egypt)...
I know that most Third world have a low CPC, and for me is good enough to have around 20 euros per day. But to have this I need about 1700 clicks a day, which it was. Until yesterday (651 clicks) and today (602 so far).

The weird thing is that nothing was changed (traffics, page views, CPC...) except Impressions -30%.

I think that google is checking the validity of clicks or something like that.

I hope that finish soon.

1,700 clicks a day means you've about 170,000 ad impressions a day? Or most positively 85,000. If there are much less impressions the ads are probably placed at a spot Google doesn't like. And with that much impressions you could be useful for advertisers in a direct way.

Actually I have about 300k ad impressions, normally I have around 500k.
I let google choose where to put ads (auto ads). before auto ads it never surpass 5 euros a day. so I don't really want to miss with that. :-)

Direct advertising need time and some experience in advertising business I think. (I do not have both)

By the way I use Jubna.com along with Adsense. Jubna.com it gives 2 to 5 USD a day.

Revenue is up 90% over April of last year, however revenue is down about 22% over March, the previous month this year. This is unusual since April is typically a strong month for my niche.
