Are Facebook posts worth it for AdSense clicks?

Do website visitors from Facebook produce worthwhile AdSense revenue?

When I run the Publisher Referrers report in Google Analytics, I see very low eCPMs from Facebook visitors.

It makes me wonder if it's worthwhile to spend any time posting to Facebook for the sake of getting visitors to my website. Is it worthwhile for any of you?

No, I just posted something on this. Whenever I promote my websites on Facebook and receive traffic from those posts, Google will not record clicks from that traffic.

I never post to Facebook, but Analytics reports that the Facebook traffic I get organically has an eCPM that's almost exactly the average eCPM of all referrer traffic. By comparison, YouTube traffic results in an eCPM that's only about 30% of that average.

If you post to your own Facebook page, visitors will be familiar with your site, including its ads. And most of them will probably return to Facebook once they've glanced over your content. My experience is that they're usually not really after anything, and that can make it hard to sell them something, or even get them engaged with the content.

Robzilla, I have lower results for eCPMs from Facebook than you. I get almost no traffic from YT after the new partner rules went into effect because I don't have 1,000 subs. The eCPMs weren't worth the work involved anyway when I was getting revenue, despite getting higher than average eCPMs. I especially agree with your second paragraph.

The funny thing is, the FB page for my travel site is getting more likes and follows than ever, even though I don't post very much. Despite the big jump in likes and follows, there is barely any increase in clicks from FB to my website.
