Color of URL in Ad

Control panel doesn't accept change

When changing colors on the adsense control panel I also changed the parameters for the display url. Unfortunately this change was not reflected in the code I can copy and paste. The preview picture in the control panel looks right.

The question:
Is it allowed to change the color for the url in the code manually, as it is an allowed change-option in the control panel (which just doesn't work)?

If the color is too close to the background color, it won't allow you to do it, and it will revert to a default text color. For example, the script won't allow you to have a white background with a very light yellow colored display URL. I do believe it shows up as what you input in the sample ad in the control panel when you are designing it, though.

Jenstar,
thanks for your reply.
I checked it with a slightly different color code for the URL now and the color is now reflected in the adsense code.

It bothers me that they include the URL at all. This allows advertisers to benefit from placement on my site, without me getting credit. If the URL is easy to remember, the viewer might make a mental note and visit later. I brought that customer to them, but don't get paid.

The showing of the URL and not allowing you to manually blend the URL into the background as to make them invisible is to prevent publishers from trying to completely disguise the ads as part of their site's content, I believe, and thereby trick visitors into clicking on the ads because they think it's part of the site's content. Of course I could be wrong.

I feel like I am having the opposite problem today. I tweaked my border and background colors to blend in now more with the site colors, but now, regardless of what I put for google_color_url, the URL is not showing up and is invisible..... I have absolutely no idea why this is happening. Do some of the AdSense ads not have a URL?

The long 4 ad top banner doesn't show the URL of the advertiser. It doesn't fit in there.
