I've seen them on desktop in the past and they show up in reports as desktop vignettes. They do really well.

is it me or anyone else seeing a considerably high RPM than usual. Mine is usually around 4-5 but for couple of days it has hit 7-8. Don't know if i should be happy or worry that G is going to throw it shovel and claw it back.

Adsense was inline with my low expectations, but solething seems broken in the last week with the Ad Manager.
Very low payment.
My trafic has not changed as geo structure.

Well, the problem seems to be the new IAB TCF v2.0

[support.google.com...]

"Limit EEA serving" line item controls deprecation
In coordination with Google's integration with the IAB TCF v2.0 framework, we will be deprecating the "Limit EEA serving" line item control. Going forward, you should use the new control we introduced in June to declare ad technology providers for your reservations creatives. If you previously selected “Don’t serve on any EEA ad requests” for a line item that was otherwise eligible to serve ads in the EEA and the UK, this line item will be active. You should review the new setting and adjust the targeting manually to exclude the EEA and the UK, if desired.

I had to implement a new Cookie framework.

Guys, can I ask? is viewing vignettes from your own site considered a violation? if you accidentally clicked it because vignette ads are popping up suddenly, is this violation too? thanks for advance response/s.

I had to implement a new Cookie framework.

Which one? After you implemented it, do you see any type of advise in your Ad Manager or Adsense UI?

I work with Quantcast free solution, as it give me the option of customising the interface.

Google solution is "great" and it does not give many customisation options, particularly the one to not be very easy to decline cookies (make accept default visually).

If the user decline the use of cookie -> is like an ad-block and this is a huge pain in the a$$.
We live from ads, ppl!

[quantcast.com...]

In Adsense I see this:
We've detected an issue on your IAB TC string on one or more of your sites or apps. These errors may affect your ability to serve ads to European users. A detailed report is available for you on the EU user consent page.

This is the direct result of visitors declining cookies.

Ad manager reporting is stuck.

Hi, no , it's not the result of the user not giving consent.

If error is 2.1.a is being reported (most publishers are receiving this one), the reason is: Tag or SDK isn’t receiving a TC string due to CMP status being stub, loading, or error.
And this is because Ads are being requested before the consent string is available. So, you need to make sure that no request is made until an action is taken by the user. I almost have a working solution, I will post it here when I'm sure it works.

Do you still get the error when you show non-personalized ads in EU?

If you are using a CMP IAB tcf v2.0, errors are going to be reported anyway. Google is going to ignore your set up in Adsense. You should downgrade to 1.1. But then, many buyers are not going to bid for your inventory.

@MayankParmar Yes. Happened to me.

@dollarsound It would be great if you could do that.

Hello everyone! I have a few questions.
Did your adsense revenue go down in this pandemic? What exactly went down, CPC, CTR or something else? Thanks

Is adsense down in ASIA?

@Lisa, without trying to sound sarcastic but my visitors must be suddenly blind during the pandemic because CTR dropped a lot. CPC/CPM also dropped a lot. Visitors compared to January till August last year are up about 40%(!). But the drop in metrics is horrible and I've switched to header bidding, direct advertisers and affiliates and for the moment stopped with Adsense.

I even use Google ad manager to serve inhouse banners to promote the Facebook and Twitter page. If Adsense is that bad just try to bind your visitors for the long run.

Thank you so much for your reply, Runfun. Both CPC and CTR are down for me too. Traffic is also fluctuating a lot lately. No idea when it will get normal or if it will ever get normal.

Lisa, I have been up across the board (CPC, CTR, and RPM). I think different niches are having different experiences, but I think in the niche my sites exist... more people staying home and using the internet more is what's driving it. I say this, because it started picking up for me in early March and has continued at pace. So, the increase seems to coincide with the lockdowns. I thought for a second that it might be an increase of political advertising during this election cycle. However, I block political ads by default, so it can't be that.

Happy to hear that Adsense is treating you well @Pixby8.
Yes, you're right. It could be because of the niche.

Here in the USA, everything is up across the board for me; traffic, CPC, CTR. Of course, schools are coming back online and that's a huge boost for me since half of my traffic comes from students when school is in session. I hope the trend continues, at least I made it through my typical bad months of June, July, and August.

Even my niche is somewhat similar to yours and I saw a huge search in both traffic and revenue in March and April. But I'm yet to see any improvement. Traffic is up slightly, but revenue is dismal

This suggests ad rates are back to the pre-pandemic level.

Revenue improved since April, but still below what I was earning this time last year. About 30% lower.

August was pretty good in the 2nd part, but in those pandemic time, only US, UK, Canada seems to perform. The rest of the world is dead or put into a coma.
The revenue from Asia and Europe is minimal, but the traffic is rising.

@Lisa It is better than April/May, but as Mentat pointed, revenue from Aisa and Europe is still bad.
