Things are all over the place for me. Since March 25ish, my Google Analytics sessions and page views/impressions don't match my other analytics tool (analytics tool is showing twice as many sessions as Google Analytics). The two analytics tools used to be fairly consistent before then. As others mentioned, CPC has halved since January, but my page views have quadrupled according to one analytics tool (and doubled according to Google Analytics). All in all I'm doing fairly well but something seriously weird is going on.

Deriklogov, they might display when clicking an external link, but I've only seen them when I click internal links.

FB has said it will supply advertising credits, too. I think advertisers have to apply, though.

I spend about $300 a month with Google Ads. It'll be interesting to see how much the credit is.

"Small and medium businesses worldwide that have been active advertisers since the beginning of 2019 will be informed in the coming months through notifications within their Google Ads account."

Today was the worst day in several years. Traffic is doing VERY well, but RPM is crap. Glad I am not alone.

Yes, it's normal to see huge decrease in CPC/RPM these days. Prepare that this will last at least until the end of May. US economics is heavily damaged by the outbreak and it's now the worst situation in the world.

Saturday I had about 5 euros revenue with Adsense and header bidding. Can't even remember it was this low. 5 euros lol with 2,500 unique visitors and about 12,000 pageviews. Unfortunately no leads or sales with affiliates to compensate. Adsense was near dead and corona pushed it of the cliff.

Our main site's eCPM is normally $0.50 or so. But this week its below $0.05 and from yesterday it has fallen to $0.02 or even $0.01.

Google is simply stealing our money. We got around 5k impressions in the last 12 hours or so. And the earnings is $0.04. The traffic is same as always, then what?! huh?! Even when this virus outbreak started and all of our targeted countries got effected. So, their traffic's also got effected. Still we managed to get good rates. Then what happened after Tuesday, last week?!

Website owners are still failing to understand that not only are we headed for a prolonged recession, but most likely a depression. AdSense is not the only ad provider that has been affected. I use another provider in their drop, because of coronavirus, was considerably worse than Adsense. My drop with Adsense has been about 25-30% since the outbreak.

This economic meltdown is going to break havocs. Adsense earning has fallen drastically now while during previous years, spring and summer was the peak season for me to generate revenue with adsense. But this month it is just going down and down every passing day.

I was thinking about launching a youtube channel too but after looking at disastrous economic situation i should just wait and see if circumstances get any better.

Also all those freelancing platforms are down too and freelancers are literally struggling to get any orders.

According to UK and Canadian authorities, this mess of corona could extend to 18 months unless there is a vaccine available.

Maybe delivering food or something like that ;-)

March was very good but April is bad. Literally few euros a day with this weekend about 2.3K unique visitors a day.

The last 7 days:

Page Views: 556,147
Impressions: 1,394,719
Clicks: 4,561
Page RPM: $0.90
Impression RPM: $0.36

Same period last year:

Page Views: 778,367
Impressions: 1,778,317
Clicks: 4,335
Page RPM: $1.10
Impression RPM: $0.48

Traffic is down because much of my traffic comes from schools.

@Mentat Middle Schools, High Schools, and Colleges and Universities. My sites are heavily dependant on them and because schools are closed, it hurts me.

"The Interactive Advertising Bureau estimated that between March and June, overall digital ad spending will fall 33% owing to a combination of withdrawn or reduced advertising budgets. The group projected a 37% drop in spend on digital video ads in March and June, and a 41% drop in digital display ads, as compared to pre-coronavirus budgets"

I don't know of any silver bullets but there are solutions that provide gains of 25-39%.

These solutions include:
- native video
- interactive quiz units
- ad-block revenue recovery tools
- ad re-auctioning technology

Do you already have these in place (most website owners do not)? On the ad setup side, adding in an extra ad unit can help but optimising for viewability has provided the biggest boost so far.

Have you people really not been preparing for this? I was telling it less than a year ago that this will come and it is indeed here.

You should have been saving every single penny and investing all your money in hard assets in the last 12-24 months. There is no other protection against a global depression of this size.

Do you really think that government and companies like Google will help you? Oh com'on...

Expect at least 2-3 very bad years now... Much worse than in 2008-2009.

@frostitomik where did you state this? There is currently NO global depression. NEVER bet against AMERICA!

@itek, I am going all-in on a recession and possibly depression. It's overdue. Don't let the artificial propping up of America's economy fool you. It's inevitable and coronavirus just gave it a push.

How bad it will be as a publisher really depends on your niche. My main site has taken a hit but another site that usually struggles is surging because it fits this crisis.

It doesn't matter if your site is doing good or bad, when people will be broke and there will be no sales, there will be no earnings no matter what you do.

I think there is more likely to have some global debt fueled inflation. At least that is what governments globally are doing. As long as people still have faith in government, we will be fine for the mean time. Countries and corporates around the world are borrowing even more to dig us out of this hole. Money is created through debt and borrowing.

Depression won't happen until the hole gets too big for a bigger hole. Trillions is nothing when we could as well borrow a quadrillion. A quadrillion asset is enough to outright buy everyone out of debt. Next a Quintillion might be on the cards.

Money is just a imaginary concept. The liquid in the engine that gets burned and disappear.

I do think global depression in next decade when debts become way too crazy. Politicians and bankers need to figure out how to manage quadrillion of debt and sell that to the public. Or if coronavirus mutates to kill 20~40 year olds. But I am betting that it won't happen as long as we ride this out.

Even Google and FB is printing out imaginary ad budget money to "help" small businesses. Small businesses and advertisers should take up those offers to boost our imaginary RPM's.

If global depression does happen, we probably will all die out of some World War scenario and get nuked. There will be nowhere to hide. So I think betting on the global collapse is probably a sucker's bet.

Back to adsense, looking at 50%~70% RPM hit is nasty.

Frostitomik, not everyone will be broke. Even during the Depression not everyone was broke. My grandfather had a good job and kept it all through the 1930s. And it actually does matter if your site is doing good or bad.

Ok, well I was talking about AdSense sites of course. I have websites in general entertainment niche and you would say that they would be doing good during global lockdown, but the opposite is true. The recession should have happened few years ago already. The only thing keeping it up from complete collapse is the FEDs printing money, which didn't happen as much in the 1920-30s. They actually handled it better back then and let the economy collapse when it should, that's why there were new opportunities and some normal people could take an advantage. This time it will be completely different, worse.
