Hi all,

If you’ve tried using the services of a Google Certified Publishing Partner - what is your experience?

Did you make more with the company? Did they offer any advice that was worth following? Who did you try?

Any info would be great.

I’ve been thinking of trying a google partner company for some time - but I don’t know if they can really get you more than Adsense directly. Can AdX really be much better.

I used a CPP (on two different sites) during the latter half of last year and am glad I did - mainly to not have all my eggs in the Adsense basket (though you need an Adsense acct in good standing).

You lose some control (mainly deep reporting features and functions like Ad Balance, ad review) but I find the ad quality to be slightly better and AdX seems to reach a deep advertiser pool.

Most places let you try before you commit so I would certainly look into it if I were you.

I'm still with them BTW.

I represent a GCPP (Oko), so I can't give you an impartial answer to your question. However, if you have any questions about the program or the assurances it offers I'll be happy to to give you my view.

I'll give you an answer to this part though:

"but I don’t know if they can really get you more than Adsense directly. Can AdX really be much better."
Most certified partners will not just be offering to swap direct AdSense for AdX, or at least shouldn't be. There are some advantages to doing that, but in terms of revenue performance the gains are minimum. GCPP are required to add value for publishers. Different partners do this in different ways. In terms of revenue gains those value adds often come as a combination of improving ad placements, introducing demand from outside of Google, and managing a more efficient auction through approaches like header bidding and open bidding. Some of the automated systems also increase inventory by showing more ad units to more valuable users.

If you are considering using a GCPP I'd recommend really understanding what they are offering beyond access to adx and then talking to a couple who's approach is inline with your way of doing things (including us of course!)
