6 months ago I removed AdSense from all my properties but one, that one had its AdSense code removed on 31st August 2019.

Because of web caches etc I knew it would take a little time to reduce to zero PVs however I am now wondering what is going on at G since I am now seeing PVs on a site that has not had any ad code for 6 month as follows:

April - July 69 PVs
August 0 PVs
September 151 PVs
October 1st so far 5 PVs, 4 of which are from Mexico

The site that had the ad code removed on 31st August saw 62 PVs in September and so far 1 today.

Why am I seeing PVs for a site that had its ad code removed 6 full months ago?

What's going on, any ideas?

What does your site log indicate?

Nothing, only Google is registering PVs, bizarre.

Mexico?
So, it's not adsensebots.
Could the site be framed?

Could the site be framed?

Don't think so, how could I tell? It's years since I've even considered anything like that.

September's PVs were:

USA 119
UAE 25
Iran 23
Mexico 13
China 12
Turkey 7
India 6
UK 4
Several with 1

All the above are major and regular widget supplier except for UAE which is a major buyer.

I find it strange that by August there were 0 PVs as expected then PVs in September and already in October ... surely something must be wrong at Google's end?

I've just downloaded the entire site and performed a find my publisher number and there was nothing.

Some ideas:
- archive.org
- code not removed from some old HTML pages
- Adsense code included in any .php/Javascript snippet
- page copied to another website in the hard way

Hello-

You can narrow your stats by domain names, so you can see if the PV comes from your own domains, or from others.

@JorgeV

I've already told you that!

@Lexur

- archive.org

I'll investigate that one, all other suggestions no, no and no.

So, 1st October 4 PVs from Mexico 0 impressions,
2nd October nothing
3rd October already 4 PVs from Mexico 0 impressions

This is, quite simply, annoying!

You get page views because the web is forever ... even in places few know ... or consider.

As long as it is not a NEGATIVE who cares? It is traffic ... and if your site is all it can be has an opportunity to satisfy another user, or convert a sale (as the case might be).

If one has removed adsense just know that will follow you around for YEARS (I left back MANY years ago) to come.

Hopefully it's slowly correcting itself, the only country from where I'm getting these PVs has been the USA for the last few days.

Report back in a "few more days" and let us know the final result.

The web is crazy ... sometimes things happen at light speed, but most of the time they are glacial eons, which are frustrating to no end!

Fingers crossed the "problem" site has had no PVs for the past couple of days however another site which has had zero AdSense PVs for 6 months suddenly had 5 PVs last Sunday ... Hopefully things are clearing-up, hopefully.

@RedBar

I removed Adsense from my site around 2 months ago and still get page views too (38 views yesterday). This tells me the web does need to be cleaned, but even as big as google is, the amount of content is too much to keep properly organized.
