Well, looks like the big improvements I saw in the days leading up to Valentines Day were all for nothing. Google clawed it all back. I knew it was too good to be true.

Same here Glitterball, yesterday I had two leads earning 4 times more than Adsense. Impressions of Adsense where 10 times of my affiliate ads... so what's the use of Adsense?

Let me guess, Alphabet (Google) will report record earnings again and nobody sees an improvement of earnings at their accounts?

... today header bidding is 50% of the earnings of Adsense but only 10% of the impressions of Adsense. Lol :'-)

My earnings are breaking through the roof (RPM is like in the best days of 2016). I found a quite place and crying there with big tears because of my non endless happiness... Will I become rich soon or this is not for long? :)

Can I be nosy and ask for peoples Page views, RPM and CTR for the last 7 days?

Just interested to see people's ranges and maybe we can see if we are all truly as awful on a scaleable level.

Feel free to inbox me if you don't want to put it publicly.

I dont know guys this is just terrible.. Its very painful to watch my earnings... Bad CTR, bad page views (like someone is deleteing or even not counting vitis), bad price click just like during january of february....

I dont know whats happening I guess its not just me since almost all friends of mine have the same issue.

Do you have any sort of information why this is happening around the globe?

At the second page of this topic Cyril talked about bad earnings, now he/she sounds very optimistic lol...

I believe in a few numbers like pageviews but I just can't believe the CTR and CPC, can't remember they where that low. But as I said before I'm going to reduce impressions to Adsense even more, it's not worth it. Today 29K ad impressions of Adsense, my affiliate banners not even 2K... earnings of my affiliates 9 times the amount of Adsense.

This weekend was good but the reason was the CPCs have improved. CTRs issue and "missing unbilable clicks" are still there. So last weekend was good but it could have been really good.

Horrible March here and getting worse, 2019 has been terrible compared with 2018 at this time, is there light at the end of the tunnel?

For those with mainly mobile traffic, here's a tip to help with the earnings.

While Link Units were performing really well for mobile in 2018, Google has confirmed with me that they have updated the way Link Units display to more accurately reflect the advertisements. In the past, the button text was very targeted with the website context. Now according to Google Adsense team, the button text on Link Units are largely dependent on the current advertisers for your niche at that specific time. This change is putting hard downward pressure on CTR.

I've tried out a couple different networks, tested auto ads as well as individual ad units. What I've found that's working pretty well right now is adding a single responsive ad unit with a 'rectangle' attribute within the flow for mobile users. I've also split out my ad units for Desktop and Mobile.

We'll see how it plays out the rest of the month, but so far it has stopped the bleeding. Still not 100% back to 2018 RPMs, but it's a big start...

Just to clarify, I'm also running a single Link Unit in addition to the new ad unit.

I'm back to my pre-penalty earnings thankfully. Looking at comparing my last 3 months against the 3 months before. RPM is -10% and CPC is down 31% and definitely lower consistently than the previous 3 months.

I've got a fixed ad about my header and a fixed right hand ad (that appears below the content on mobile) and auto-ads to put the ads around them two and it works well.

@Gracie: couple things I'm curious about:

1. I've noticed on mobile, auto ads favors implementing ads with the horizontal layout. Moving to a fixed ad unit with the data-ad-format set to rectangle is a better performer.

2. Since your fixed right hand ad appears below content on mobile, I'd suggest adding a mobile only unit within the content. After the title or first p...

I've really wondered what happened to link ads. At one time last year I had three link ads per posts and they were all doing well. Now, I have one, and I'm considering removing even that last one. The click through rates on those link ads were really good last year. But they have certainly dried up.

I won't mention his real name but he's still alive and posting on social media, just not here.

@Abu009 - media.net and a network for my niche. I've kept a single ad on the niche network as it is performing well and helps with the site authenticity.

My posts aren't that long so the current format works well, auto ads tends to stick one or two nicely in the middle of the content. Most people read under the content for the comments, so the ad gets seen the comments are the best part of some of the posts.

I noticed today that the "Matched Content" unit on my site is no longer showing matched content, instead it's showing regular responsive ads, I have replaced the code a few times and still the same, anyone else notice this with their Matched Content units?

Interestingly, Adsense offered me a couple of experiments on my dashboard where they essentially offered to take control of Matched Content and Auto Ad placement on the entire site. I opted in and doubled daily earnings almost immediately. So apparently their algorithm knows what it's doing!

It was under "Optimization" and then "Automatic Experiments" if anyone is interested.

Has t'Internet been switched off this morning? Unbelieveably low traffic across many sites for me plus zero earnings, not that they're much anyway.

Oh, wonderful, not!

This week, we released a broad core algorithm update, as we do several times per year.

Very slow AdSense day for me today, even though my site does not appear to have been impacted by the Google update. Traffic is normal, but AdSense earnings are the lowest in quite some time.
