got email about a payment in 2016

Just recieved one of those standard emails saying I have received a payment saying:

Check your recent payment
We sent a payment for your Google AdSense earnings on 21 Jun 2016.

Weird?

Google's like that sweet ole grandma that still thinks you're 8 years old and keeps sending you checks for your birthday :)

Except these are make-believe checks : /
