Hi so I have taboola ads but their ads are really slowing my site pages. Each taboola enabled page opened calls about 6-7 3rd party ad sites.

I noticed removing taboola does speed up my website. Is it worth the hassle to allow taboola ads vs adsense? thanks!

Depends on how much revenue you are making with Fabiola also being on your site. If you notice without it and the speed difference makes you more money altogether with AdSense than it’s not but if taboola causes you to make more than it is.

I generally urge publishers to weigh up their content-recommendation ads in terms of the amount of screen they take up. Literally work out a value per 1000 pixels and compare with your other sources. AdSense policy states "Advertising and other paid promotional material added to your pages should not exceed your content", which means that publishers wanting to monetise through Google ads have limited space to work with. That means every pixel has to pay.

I don't generally see content-recommendation ads competing on that basis. They are big and low revenue. I think that many of these networks also have an a quality quality and performance issues that can impact on visitor loyalty / visit depth - which is hidden hit to earnings.

If you do intend to pull ads check your contract with them first. It's not unusual to see publishers on a rolling 12 month contract with guaranteed inventory. In those cases the contract demands that the ads stay in place even if they earn next to nothing and are of horrendous quality. :/

It really depends on your audience if they offer you opportunities to earn. Every industry is different.
The last time i tested taboola it was a waste of time. I wasn't expecting it to work, but i had to run the test.
That's the key point, test, test, test.

Ok maybe I’ll disable taboola for now. It’s making me minimal money and I’d rather focus on good paying non intrusive ads

AdSense policy states "Advertising and other paid promotional material added to your pages should not exceed your content",

Ahem, will be fun if one day Adsense enforces this ...
