My main domain that I've been using for the past 5 years, and 100+million PVs has had it's RPM steadily dwindling since March of 2017. As of now it's down 3-5x less than it used to be.
I believe something may have happened that caused the domain to be considered poor quality in adwords, hence the decrease earnings. Or just over 100+ million pvs many advertisers have blacklisted the domain in adwords. This is just a theory, though.
I have thought of a few ways to lift my RPM back up, and was hoping someone could tell me if any of them would work. Basically, I'm thinking if I can swap the domain, it'll clear any blacklists have an renew RPM.
Idea #1 - Use an entirely new domain, to have a fresh start in adwords, and hopefully raise RPM
Idea #2 - Switch my domain from HTTP to HTTPS (if it works like a new domain), to have a fresh start in adwords, and hopefully raise RPM
And a few questions:
-Is my theory on the domain being blacklisted/smart priced plausible?
-Does changing the domain from http to https cause adsense & adwords to view the site as a new entity, like it does for Google search indexes?
-Do earnings/RPM drastically differ between domains, all other things being equal and I simply change my domain without changing any content/layout?
-If one site is blacklisted or considered poor quality does it affect the rest of the sites in the account?
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me here! I really, really appreciate any responses.
