Change of Address Causes Halt in Payments

Google address verification will take 2-4 weeks

Have moved house a few time before and change of address has been straight foward with Google.

This time it appears payments will be halted until address is verified. They will send a verification pin to my new address within the next 5 days and it may take 2 - 4 weeks to get here.

I understand what they are doing, but had I known, I would have made the change just after my next payment.

Thanks for the heads-up denisl.

I've also moved a couple times in the past without the need to reverify address.

Wonder if this is a random thing or whether this is now policy.

This kind of thing is happening all the time in all areas of finance: It's to help avoid money laundering and helps protect the account holder from account and identity theft.

Point noted about the timing, thanks.

As a follow up to this, I received my pin today, and now have an email saying they have made the payment today. I had assumed that payment would be held until next month - so not so bad after all.

Glad that turned out OK. I changed my address about a week ago, and did not need to verify it.
