A couple of times today I have started to see 4 ads in a vertical display where there was just 3 ads in the past.

Anyone else? Is this something new?

I only see stacks of 2 on my pages and there's plenty of room.

Definitely, for the past couple of days I have been seeing as many as five, yes 5, even on mobile devices.

All I could see was:

Company Logo
Navigation
AdLink
AdLink
AdLink
AdLink
AdLink

Basically nothing but ads above the fold.

The bottom link ads have increased from 2 to 3 on mobile and from 4 to 8 (2 rows!) on desktop. The top link ads haven't changed.

What size adlink box are you guys using? I'm only seeing 2 ads in a small 160x90 box.

I'm using responsive.

I'm responsive as well & still see only two on my pages. That's fine with me. The reason I chose this ad unit was because it seemed less intrusive than the larger ones.

@farmboy, how wide do they get? Did you see any significant change in performance compared to fixed-size units?

It depends on the site, but I'm still seeing at least three on every page and someimes four.

Thing is, with responsive you need to check those two-only spots and three-only spots from time to time to see if it has "grown."

Allow for more room as they "grow", like planting tomatoes.

I have seen some five-wide and some have reported seeing five-wide x two rows (or 10).

But keep in mind I only have used responsive,

Well, since they are responsive I don't need to allow for more room since they will make the room they need, pushing my content down as needed. At least this is how I've set it up in my CSS - YMMV.

I guess this an update, a positive update, I'm seeing some link displays with five ads now.

One question about link ads:

I have just implemented them for the first time, and I can see that they take terms from the page on which they sit.

So I see on one of our pages: "Nobel Prize" "Poetry" as links.

However, when I click through to them I get a single choice for a PDF decoder for one of them, and a Dental ad under the other.

Can anyone explain why the options when clicking through are so sparse and unrelated? Does it take time for relevant ads to appear on those click-through pages or something? Or are the destination ads always random and weird like this?

edit to add: on some clickthroughs there are NO ads at all... ?

Careful, against Adsense policy to click ads on your own pages.

Never thought about this, but is there any way to tell in ad review which ads show vis adlinks?

Try using the Chrome browser with the Adsense Publisher add-on. It will overlay info on your adds about the source, URL, add type, etc as well as your stats.

If I remember correctly, you can lick on the first layer of your own adlinks, but not click through to in the second step

First Click OK Second Not OK.

Link Units are my top producing ad. Followed by 728x90.

Google likes then, they get 50% of the revenue.
