Hi,

I never used the custom channel's targeting feature, mostly because I was not clearly understanding how it worked. Now, after reading about it, I think I better understand.

My question is, how are you writing the "description" ? I think that you need to description briefly the content of the page on which the ads will be shown, their position, and the kind of audience ?

Do you have examples?

Thank you,

I just state the ad size followed by a brief one-sentence page/content description. I use to go long, really detailed with these (including position and audience) but it made no difference offering more information.

Thank you CommandDork for your reply.

I am wondering if anyone here, is using Adwords and could tell us what he is awaiting from the targetable's ad description. If there is particular information Adwords users are seeking, or if there are standards to present them.

When I had an AdSense account manager, they told me to call channels something like "sitename size ATF" for ads appearing above the fold. So: "AmazingSite MPU ATF" or "AmazingSite 468x60 BTF".

Caveat: this was around five years ago.

Thank you james007 ! Did your account manager also suggest a standard format to write the description ?

No. I wrote things like "This ad appears on all (widget) pages".
