Did something change

I have a forum, I run 3 ads on each page. Over the last 3 days I have noticed a significant increase in impressions compared to page views

eg:

oct 5th
PV: 35K - Imp 75K

Now moving to Oct 7th
PV 33K - Imp 85K

This increase is noticeable starting on the 6th, have google done some kind of deal with one of the ad blockers to show their ads?

No significant variations spotted here. My page view to impressions ratio is usually 1 to 2.0-2.2 and it hasn't increased notably over the past week.

Could it be a popular post drawing more users to the bottom of the page, and thus producing more impressions?

I might be wrong but I don't think impressions has anything to do with visibility, so does not change according to whether a visitor goes to the end of a page.

My active view viewable is the same, around 40%. I think a 10k increase in impressions is quite significant.
