I've seen a lot of talk about blocking adblocked traffic. I'm curious to hear feedback from web publishers who have taken the plunge and blocked the traffic.

Are people turning off their ad blockers for your site?

Are your AdSense impressions up?

Any impact on your AdSense earnings?

Equally curious about any responses on this topic, I am not one that blocks the adblockers (in fact, I use an ad blocker for my PERSONAL web use). With the current uptake of some 326 million world wide (about 20% of users in western world by some statistics) there's bound to be some kind of impact.

I solved the issue quickly and efficiently. I didn't have to block anything or anyone. I only added: 'adbanner' class to the body element, so it looked like:

<body class="adbanner">...</body>

and the majority of those who used the adblock knew what to do to resolve their problem.

No change in earnings, still $0.50-$1.00 per day after 2 weeks. This confirmed my other test about pre-determined monthly earnings (going from 2 to 1 unit per page had only -10% negative on weekly earnings).

Thanks for your feedback. :)

I would really like to keep this discussion focused on members who have instituting ad blocking and what happened afterward.

Thanks!

I started banning ad block visitors about 3 months ago. My countable traffic has increased by a few % and my ad revenue has increased by about 15%.
The increase in revenue may be because I moved Adsense to 5th in my daisy chain behind Gannett Digital (tenga.com), tribal, valueclick & burst.

I change the order monthly according to cpm, Adsense is barely staying out of last place just ahead of media net now.
