Google’s app reviews team informed him the app was being removed for violating “Section 4.4” of the Android Developer Distribution Agreement.

developers can’t release apps that interfere with “the devices, servers, networks, or other properties or services of any third-party including, but not limited to, Android users, Google or any mobile network operator.”

So how do you think this will play out?

Very good move. All ad blockers have two possible business models:

1. Extortion.

2. Ads / promotions for users who use these ad blockers.

Removing them from Google Play is like getting rid of a spam network.

Of course, Samsung is Google's biggest Android partner, adding a layer of tension to the dispute. Samsung is essentially asking its own partners to violate Play Store guidelines to support a feature Google may find harmful to its business of displaying and serving advertising. It's an especially thorny issue for Google, which has more recently made moves to stave off the decline of the mobile web in favor of apps, where the company cannot earn ad revenue as it does on mobile and web browsers through its dominant search engine.

Not good for users, but still better than Apple's rules, and you can install them from outside the Play Store if you wish.

So why don't they boot Ucbrowser which blocks all ads by default ?

Apps are changing the mobile landscape. The black box is in trouble at the moment.

They may give browsers a bit more leeway.

All the more reason to install F-Droid.
