"http://XXXXXX would like to use your current location"

Is Adsense responsible for this message on iPhone?

For some reason I get the following message when I view my website on iPhone:

"http://XXXXX would like to use your current location" and I have to accept to continue.

This hasn't been the case before. Could I have changed some setting? Is this because of Adsense? Does anyone know? Thanks a lot.

In your iPhone you can go to Settings > Locations and change it or you can leave it as is and allow or disallow per site/app. In the latest iOS update the new "feature" of "Beacons" was added so if you want notifications from contacts or apps when you are in specific locations you can turn it on or off. "Locations" refers to your specific geo-location and some services (like maps) won't work if you have Locations turned off. You have the choice to allow or disalow per instance turned on, so it asks. It is not related to AdSense in general, but some advertisers may be requesting Location to serve you local interests.

I get that same message sometimes and I don't use an iPhone.

Most devices that have GPS location capability are subject to these messages. Check your device OS manual for a global defeat of these "services" (or intrusions as the case may be). Know that some devices will not allow a global defeat, only a case by case defeat.

Check the Settings. Depending on the exact OS it may take some hunting; I finally ran mine to ground (this is iOS 8.something on the iPad) under Settings >> Privacy >> Location Services.

I kinda think you get a global question about using Location every time you update the OS, so you may have clicked something without paying enough attention to it.

I was going to say, the above posters, while trying to be helpful, are missing the point. Something on your site is attempting to access your location. I don't think it's adsense (though i guess there is always the chance), but something is. If using wordpress, review your plugins.

Ditto here, my local hardware chain site is notorious for it, no matter what settings I use in IE11 [which I prefer to use for searching]

I think the gathering of statistical information is beginning to get out of control.

I see it also on my desktop, not amused with this because visitors of my website won't appreciate it.
