Architecture magazine - high CPC, horrible CTR

Hello guys,

I am glad I found this forum and hopefully somebody will be able to help me. I run a relatively popular magazine which focus on interior design and architecture. Now my CPC is very good I think (2-3 dollars per click) however CTR is horribly low: the average is between 0.10 and 0.22%

I am using two adsense ads inside articles. Both 336x280 (only images). The first one is placed after first paragraph and the second in the end of article. I am wondering if there is anything I could do to improve this low CTR? Most of my users come from USA btw.

Try both text and image ads. Change up your placements, try putting one just above the article.

Yes, you need text and image to provide the best coverage, Mikaelo. I'd try to find space for a 728x90, if I was you. I have one magazine style site and it's a big earner there.

Thank you guys, I will try that. Btw could slower page load be an issue as well? Each article has about 10 images with a width of 1200px, so it is definitely not a blazing fast website :)
