Anyone tried this "new" ad size Automatic Size , Responsive?
Good opinion, bad opinion, still trying it out?
swanny007 and netmeg,
I'm addressing this new thread specifically to you two because you responded in another thread.
The site netmeg gave to check on the display in different sizes had interesting results. The display showed 5 different sizes and the AdSense ad was different in each of the five at the same time. ?

Are you using responsive ads?
Yes, only on this one site of mine and I'm speaking of the responsive ads offered by AdSense.

Just to give some more details, I saw five display widths and the ad was as follows:
WIDTH 240 Consumer electronics company ad 320 University degree ad 480 Imprinted pens ad 768 Fix computer mistakes ad 1025 (Several link ads in one larger format)

A responsive ad unit should resize to fit the viewport of the site; is that not what you are seeing?

My instinct is to answer "Yes" to that question, but I don't want to make a mistake here.
I entered an internal page on that site (link) you provided and it showed a different AdSense ad for each size.
Maybe the best thing is for others to try that and see what results they get.

I am super impressed with the automatic responsive ad code now, and will only use it moving forward.
It had a few bugs when they first released it, such as not resizing when a device was rotated. Now that's good too.
Honestly I don't have a bad thing to say about the automatic size responsive ad code. It fits every device without any messing around. Prior to using the automatic feature, I was manually setting ad sizes based on screen widths (that's allowed) on the responsive ad unit, but that is completely unnecessary now.
I have one more existing ad unit mid-article that is serving either a 300x250 or 336x280 depending on screen size. That's the one spot I have not converted yet to auto-responsive, it will be interesting to see how that is handled as that is a very well performing ad spot for me.

That's what it's supposed to do.

You just have to test it on your own layout to see if it works for you.
I had to remove my responsive ads, because I noticed the height and location-on-the-page detection didn't seem to be consistent in my layout - although the width detection was fine.
