Adsense account history

Does it matter?

I moved countries a few years ago, but have always maintained my Google Adsense in my origin country, out of fear of losing account history. With this comes unwanted exposure to foreign currency and all associated fees and quirks.

I'm wondering how important this account history really is? Can I just create a fresh account in my new country and change up my ad unit codes or will I lose significant amounts of revenue as Google re-asses my website's worth to advertisers?

Yes and no.

depends on which Google entity your "contract" is with in your original country and if that is also the contracting entity in your new country.

If you are changing to a country that is covered by the same entity as your current country --> no problems

If you are changing to a country that is covered by a different Google entity, the you have to close your account (ie terminate the contract with the current Google entity) and apply for a new account with the other Google entity (and there is no guarantee that they will accept you).
