Displaying Ads on Banned Site Account One Year Later

How common is this?

I'm taking a look at a new clients suite of sites sharing an Adsense account that was banned about a year ago.

One domain was flagged last year while he was out of the country for adult content. (The adult content was a woman in a bikini. One page out of 3,000 with anything that could be considered questionable.)

He didn't get the message in time to appeal but he had a few dozen sites in the account which were disabled as well.

A year later those sites are still displaying adsense. Is this routine?

I assume that you mean that where the code is in place there are ads displayed which he is not getting paid for.

I have never had a problem with my account but I would guess that once an account is banned it is only locking the user out of the control panel and stopping payments.

In my, definitely non legal, view it is down to the owner to remove the code and stop the ads displaying but G should have no right to charge the advertisers in the mean time (I bet they do).

This is the sort of story that the Sunday papers have fun with in a slow news week or if you are in the UK perhaps Mr Hislop's estemed organ. Try talking to a friendly journo
