If I am to receive a check from California by August 30, they had better send out checks tomorrow.
I must admit, I am getting anxious. The check is supposed to be quite large (relatively speaking) and I want it. Anybody get paid for this month yet?

nothing says that your will "receive" your check in 30 days, they just promise to process your payment by that time.
Actually, it says exactly that:
You will receive a check for your account balance within 30 days of the end of every calendar month(my emphasis)
it's on your Account Information page.
Although (call me naive) I'm not worried about not being paid by Google, even if it comes a day or so later.
Google will mail you a check within 30 days after the end of each calendar month that Google AdWords ads are running on your site if your earned balance is US $100 or more.
But I am also in agreement with SeaBoy - I am not worried about not getting paid by Google, I just hope it arrives before I leave for London ;) 30 day terms is amazingly quick when most take 60 to 90 days to pay, if not longer.
The only reasons why someone might not get paid is for AdSense fraud, or if money is owed for an AdWords account. As long as you don't fall under either of those, your check will be cut and mailed sometime this week.
Not exaclty within 30 days or after 30 days - between 4 and 6 weeks. Perhaps too much traffic being processed?
Just sit and wait. In the meantime keep serving the ads :)

Thank you for sharing, that is very interesting. If they are saying 4 to 6 weeks, I am guessing they had either many more publishers than expected, or many more possible fraudulent clicks/impressions they need to audit before sending payment.
If they are actually changing payments to 6 weeks, they should send an email to publishers and/or change the FAQ. It is still possible they may do that before the thirty days is up.

According to the current situation, I do not think that Google could "mail" out the checks by Aug. 30. Even after Google completes the auditing and publishing the earnings, it would take several more days to cut and mail the checks because it looks currently Google outsources the service from the third party.
I think Google should update the TOS/FAQ as well as the message shown on the "Account Information" page.
It could be that the "4-6 weeks after the end of the month" phrase in freitism's email was referring to when you will actually receive the check. That would give the postal service 2 weeks to get everyone's check out to them.
Freitism can you tell us if google was referring to when they would send them out or when you would receive your check.
The e-mail text says from 4-6 weeks depending on your address after the month in which the account qualified.
It makes clear (to me) that this is the time to expect a cheque to be delivered.

I will just take the statement on the accounts screen as a typo, (and overidden by the FAQ/conditions/terms i generally see as the "bible"), of which we have several on our own site.. ;)

I am new to Adsense and I have amased over the $100 during July.
I have been reading through all the posts and I am concerned as many of you are about when we will receive a check.
Can I clarify, or can anyone help me clarify the following.....
Adsense started in June 2003 and the payments went out okay?
But that is the last we have heard......
I'd concentrate on adding more content so you can get paid more next month.
Once I get my hands on it I can say YEAH>>>>> to all those affiliate rip offs that have been hammering us webmasters for the last 24 months. The days of the CPM riches could be upon us again. Advertisers are going to find that the only way that thay can get inventory is by coughing up in advance......

I don't think Google is being tricksy ;) But I do wonder why it isn't showing up in the account though, if they say checks are going out or are about to.
