So looking at exit links in Statcounter I see a couple of exits listed as 800x280 and 800x250.

Thinking I might have selected to allow exoandable ads I looked at my settings.

Nope.

Why else would these ad sizes show up as exit links?

I do allow "similar sized ads" but I don't use anything close to these sizes. Biggest size is 336x280, no 728x90 etc.

And yes I know SC isn't perfect, but still...

any ideas?

Is it a responsive ad unit?

Nope, not responsive. I haven't set up any responsive ad units.

Well apparently all the clicks came from one visitor with-in a few minutes on some kind of mobile device with a resolution of 220x120.

How the heck can that be? 220x120, what would that be?

And an ad that large would take up several screen scrolldowns and sideways too.

Well, I think I might have figured this out, at least the ad size part.

I have a 160x90 adlinks unit in the righthand column about 200 pixels down from the top of the page, under the logo, title/headline and a short paragraph.

Clicking on that could take the visitor google page with whatever size ad g chose to show.

And that would kind of make sense with the small screen size.

Yep. I haven't run ad links for a while so I don't remember seeing anything like that in Statcounter.

Yeah, ad links haven't been earning their keep for a while now, so I just took them off all my pages a few minutes ago.
