Can't cash Western Union payment

Hi there, already posted this on the Adsense support forum, no response so far. Last time a cheque was stolen and cashed, Adsense offered an investigation and never answered the thread again despite my attempts to reach them after sending all the info, papers, etc. So you know why I post this here.

I've been using WU payments for quite a while. Sadly only a few banks can process the payment, Why? I don't know. They keep telling me there is an error or the data is incomplete (that's not true). So I was visiting this bank more specialized on international stuff, I was told by some staff, that Adsense publishers where common among their clients. We were happy.

Yesterday I went there and they couldn't process my payment because they have a new system. They tried and tired, no luck so far. The got generic error messages AND NO INFO, they showed me the screen and only appears one data: first name and one letter. The payment got locked for 20 minutes approx. The bank staff called Western Union support and they gave directions: no luck. They were able to finally reach a part of the system where they see my name, amount, etc, all the data (so YES the data is there), but then the system kept showing an error disabling the button for the next steps, everything was fine but no payment.

Called again WU support and no luck, they don't know, at least that's what they said on the phone 2 times, I was there. There were other clients with the same problem but ABLE to pass the last stage and get paid, only one guy and me were there with no luck, I presume he is an adsense publisher too.

The bold part above: I got that error on another bank long time ago, same scenario, just my name and a letter, all the rest of fields empty, the payment got locked 20 minutes.

I'm still pending for an official WU office, too bad there are very few around. I'm worried as now, today no banks can deal with this payment.

Anyone can relate to this? please think twice about telling me "ask google" only a newbie would suggest such thing, already posted my question but you know how bots are I mean how google is. And no, no transfers available here, only cheque and WU, cheques take too long and get stolen AND cashed, Adsense didn't answered on that case.

Well this newbie is telling you the ONLY way you're going to get an answer is to ASK GOOGLE. Are you eligible for email support? If so, then use it.

The purpose of threads like this one is to find out if others have the same experience OR complementary OR ***alternative information*** (not instead-of), and to avoid posting/reading what I could tell to myself.

Forum of coders/webmasters and some can't get the AND / OR / NOT. I'm not mad or going off topic, I'm trying to call for sense on keeping it on topic, the OP is clear enough.

Explorador, I can't offer much help, but I am curious why you use WU? I kind of wonder why anyone uses it in these days of Paypal and electronic deposits.

Ember: I'm using WU because in latinamerica, specially my country (Guatemala, between México and El Salvador) electronic transfers are not available from Google Adsense. I already used cheque as a payment for several years but then someone stole the money, yes, they cash it even as it doesn't suppose to be possible. Google offered an investigation, asked for many papers and then just-stopped-replying. One person from Google said it was a shame what happened (the lack of support) and offered to escalate the matter: nothing happened. So, no cheques as an option, no electronic transfers for me, sadly. I thought about opening a bank account in Mexico, I travel very often to Riviera Maya but with G... you never know.

supergml: I'm in Guatemala. Hopefully "one day" they'll fix it, I know for a fact Adsense Publishers go to the same bank.

Another option would be the payoneer card, perhaps, maybe.

Well, where I live only direct deposit is an option for adsense, so it's impossible to have experience with money transfers.

I guess your best place for answers is not with Google but with western union.
Once Google sent you the money order, not being able to collect it is kinda out of their hands.

Not sure how much money it is, but if it is enough, it might be worthwhile to start a "virtual" company in the US and get paid there. (You don't need to be there - a lawyer in delaware or las vegas or so can do all the work for you - for a fee of course - and that's why it needs to be enough to be worth it)

would a western union prepaid debit card work for you?

they advertise that they can be used for direct deposit (after the identity verification process)


paypal has this sort of card available, too

Swa66: thanks for the locations, funny enough the only bank who cashed the WU without problem fills the pages of WU locations and now they have problems too, surprisingly I didn't found in the list any official locations. It seems to be official, all the banks are showing problems (so far) with Adsense payments and the WU system, Been visiting offices and I ask, they answer there's lots of people with complains as from 1 month ago til today.

Creeking: thanks, I asked about the prepaid debit card and they couldn't give me any information, even removed the advertising from the banks.


I found an official WU office and they told me there is nothing wrong with my payment, it's all ok, I have the money now, it's the banks.

Thanks for everything, and yes, the banks I visited report to be experiencing a lot of problems this Jan 2014 with WU payments, diff banks, diff locations, diff dates.

I would get a definite answer on the WU prepaid card, because it might be just what you need.

I found a news release by WU that a prepaid card of some sort is available in Guatemala.

Thanks creeking, I found two alternatives. One that I can only ask via web but is only available for US users, the other one is available here (it's new) but yesterday they explained I still need to make the same transaction, the only diff is they don't give me the money, they get it into the card, so it's the same issue on the procedure.

BTW I know some didn't get the idea (the problem). The thing is WU works fine on banks, diff banks in my country but Adsense Payments via WU doesn't work on all banks. I already tried and asked on every possible bank and they only say "data incomplete", per example my name only appears as "firstname X." and everything else blank. There was only one bank able to pay Adsense-WU was X and now they show the same error. I know for a fact other adsense publishers migrated to the same bank because only there it was possible to get the money until now... now is impossible on the other banks and these ones, so: not possible on a single local bank. Why? that's up for them to tell. They only keep saying is a problem coming from the sender. At the end only an official WU office was able to process the payment.

yes, now the banks are no longer an alternative. Perhaps it sounds as "why I didn't go there before" well I couldn't find any official offices anywhere, the listings only show the banks.
