There was undoubtedly a bidding frenzy for ads yesterday for first time this holiday season. However, I think Adsense has been heavy handed trying to regulate amounts people make by controlling impressions, quality of ads so you generally make the same amount regularly. However, I think the amounts exceeded their bondaries, and they are deciding how to show or not show you what you truly earned yesterday.
I'm about 95% positive my reported earnings are not accruing in 'real time' right now. I chalk this up to a combination of increased holiday advertising and way way way increased bot activity. Gut feeling that it's just plain taking AdSense longer to validate clicks.
Can I back that up? Not with evidence that would convince anyone. Just my combination of anecdotal evidence and gut feeling.
Monday is usually the best day of the week for me and it's looking really sad. I've only seen my total updated twice today. I'm gonna go with what netmeg said. Or at least reading her post makes me feel more optimistic :-)
VERY stuck the last 2 days (including today). For comparison sake, it's like the equivalent of going to a sports score to get the current score. That site tells you the score is 58 to 47 and in the 2nd QTR (basketball obviously). But in reality, at the time that website gave you that info, the game was really 89-80 and there was 1 minute left in the 4th quarter.
One other observation regarding how bad it is today is that I put a new ad on over 200 pages this morning. It's high up on the page and analytics shows over 500 visits to the pages with the new adsense ad. AdSense reporting shows 3 ad requests. What's the emoticon for smashing head against the wall?
