Earnings Warning Message

Got this message on my adsense account today "Your earnings on August 30 were 86% below forecast. This may indicate an issue with your site that you should investigate. We detected the earnings drop by comparing the money you earned to a forecast for your account."

My earnings (CTR) sucked yesterday and I checked my site and found no problems on my end. Could this be because of the Holiday weekend or ?.

Anyone else had a bad CTR yesterday?

I don't think a single day or two is enough to cause the entire month of August to dip 86%

Just because your site is functional doesn't mean you don't have problems.

Is it indexed and appearing in Google properly?

Did you check Google WMT's to see if there were any crawl errors?

Have you been penalized?

I'd do a LOT of checking.

Traffic is normal and earnings prior to that day are good. Earnings are normal today.

Don't know what happened yesterday as traffic was ok but earnings were bad.

I think they were just referring to yesterday compared on what I normally make.

For some reason I think something happened on Google's end with ad serving.

You may have been hit by Adsense new valuation algo, it 's been implemented in waves from what I read in forums. Some have been hit early June, others end of June/early July.

I've been hit end of June.

And now another account I'm managing (different company) has been hit on August 29.

I had this same message for a different day in August. My sites were fine, traffic was normal, impressions normal, just CTR was in he tank. It got stuck and never recovered. It's Google's own "system" that caused the alert.

Received it today for yesterday, but it is Labor Day and stats should be down. I don't think Google takes that into account.

Surely, they must realize that my earnings have precious little to do with what I have changed.

FAR MORE AT ISSUE ARE -
1. The traffic they have been sending (down)
2. The ad quality they have been serving (down)

I fully agree.

Also the people at Google AdSense never consider how the their suggestions might impact on sites will have on the people over on the other side of the building at Google Search.

It puts me in mind, way back when, Amazon's Associate forum actually had staff participating in discussions.

Most of us recommended that the staff should set up their own content site on the Amazon server to see what is was like on the other side of the fence in the real world.

Applause, applause! IMHO they are suffocating the *H* out of us users with all their crap and control - I've been bending to what was supposedly their will and desire since April, 2011 and every time I implement something they claim they want THINGS GOT WORSE!

Now things are so bad that I haven't much to lose any more by switching to a different ad network. They've beaten me down so much I just don't care about them anymore - or their stinking algorithms.

I dropped 80%, got a "warning" message.

Gee, no s*** Google, like I'm NOT AWARE of the fact I'm not making any money, thanks you destroying my sites.

Valuation algo? What was that exactly? Musta been what hit me. All my sites destroyed in the SE in one day.
