Ads for mysite.com/ are off target but mysite.com/default.htm are OK

How to remedy this?

As the title says I'm getting targeted ads if I type in mysite.com/default.htm (which is the default page).

But if I go to mysite.com/ it shows completely untargeted ads. This has been going on for weeks so it's not just a matter of waiting for mediabot to sort out targetting.

Anything I can do?

I have seen the same on some of my newish sites. It seems to go away after you get some links pointing to your site and gain more PR.

yes ,
with more traffic on your site from other networks, your google ads will change definitely.

Nah, it doesn't seem like a traffic or PR issue. The site is 7 years old, has thousands of inward links from some of the best sources, is a PR6, the internal pages show up seriously high in the SERPS (kinda like being #2 for BMW with #1 held by BMW itself). And that's for some very big brand names.

It seems mediabot is seeing mysite.com/ as different to mysite.com/default.htm and I've checked and checked again, default.htm is my default home page.

Try changing the links back to your home page from other pages on your site to ./ as opposed to default.html (if that is the case)

Not sure what else one can do, besides sit and wait. You could try 301, but I would stay away from that.

I have the exact same problem. Except mine is mydomain.com/index.php versus mydomain.com - there has to be a workaround!
