Competitive Ad Filter is useless!

What's the point of the competitive ad filter since IBA's are showing.

I find it frustrating that their is NO way to see what ads are showing to whom. There was a time the competitive ad filter was useful in stopping certain "poor quality" ads from showing, but now it's impossible to know what's on my site for any given person. Google should just remove this so called "feature".

I also find it very hard to determine where some image ads go to... if there is no URL to see (without clicking) then how do you know? Is there some tool I am unaware of?

The competitive ad filter is designed to stop your competitors advertising your site, hence the name.

It is very useful to many of us that do not wish direct competitors to advertise on our sites.

Poor ad quality is another issue entirely.

I'm currently having an issue where image ads are showing up in ad blocks I have designated text only. Maybe something is more borked than usual.
