Amazon Product Ads? This is big. As an associate, I just received an email from Amazon about this. So it appears Amazon has its own Adwords type of a program running now. Interesting. I think if Ebay, Overstock and other companies start going this route, Google's empire will crumble. They'd be eating Google's meal, their lifeline. We are not talking here about social traffic (Facebook). This is qualified traffic; traffic from visitors ready to buy! Their PPC rates seem pretty cheap too.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think APA will have a huge negative impact on our Adsense earnings?

Amazon Product Ads is a targeted cost-per-click advertising program which allows online retailers to drive traffic from Amazon.com to products sold on their own website. As an Amazon Associate, you can now earn up to $155 in advertising fees for each advertiser you refer to Product Ads, with no limit on the number of referrals.

Cien, ultimately this is good. No one is stopping you from adding an Amazon thingy and Google desperately needs to be challenged seriously. They have become greedy, lazy and arrogant

why would Amazon want to send people aways from it's site to someone else's to buy?

Probably below the fold ads in the no buy zone "people looking for more info".

Anything thats a sure sell they will try to keep it in network.

It's not allowed, as per WebmasterWorld TOS.
Paraphrasing is okay.

Never had much luck with Amazon ads, sorry. I don't see Amazon as any kind of a threat to Google whatsoever - Google has the superior product by a huge margin and in all likelihood will be the leader for many years to come.

That's true but I would not underestimate Amazon or MSFT medium to long term.

Seems to me that in order for either of those companies to be any kind of a threat to Google they need to get a comparable advertiser base and payout in place before people would think of leaving Google. To date, I haven't seen them be able to get anywhere near that.
