I've had AdSense image ads disabled for ages because it was notoriously off topic and IMO used to hurt my earnings, not help them, as earnings appeared to go up when images when off.

However, now that AdSense isn't paying quite as well as it did last year, I decided to turn it back on when AdSense suggested it and I must admit, earnings appear to be quite a bit stronger for the last few weeks.

Sure, it's showing some off topic stuff but it appears to be paying so what the heck, I'll run it for now and see if the earnings hold up.

I know others have disabled image ads as well so why not give them another try?

What's the worse thing that could happen, lower earnings and you turn it off again?

One more day to go--How disappointing it's been so far.

I posted about this a few months ago but we re-tested image ads out and was suprised to see them performing much better then when they first came out.

We always advocated text only but lately it seems Google image ads have made substantial gains. Our CTR went up nicely and our overall earnings increased 8%. Not a monster gain but worth it.

If you tried image ads in the past and turned them off I say give it a try folks, you may be suprised!

The site I am testing image ads on is on track to have it's best earnings ever. And it won't even be close. If things continue we'll be 20% over the previous record.

Still disappointing here. Let's give this little joke until the end of the month.

The end of September result is a new all time earnings record. September 2010 surpassed the previous record by 30%. Image ads are staying.

After those messages from Google I also changed my ads to serve images and text..

Second best month ever.. images/rich media can give a good boost in income.
