Using Adsense on a Message Board

I have a rather large and well used message board on my site and was wondering if it would be possible and within adsense terms to put adsense ads on the message board threads. Can anyone offer any insight?

Thanks

Depending on the crowd, topics, etc will determine if the adsense will generate revenue. I have it one a few of my forums and they make a little bit a day.

Should be fine. Adsense tower on the left works decently for me.

I use adsense in my forum (tower on the right) and it does very well.

I also use adsense on my forums, however if you realy want to follow the rules you SHOULD NOT have your adsense ads appear on search, username index pages, profile pages, a coupel other things. If you use phpbb there is a litlte tuotiral on it at the phpbb site...do a search for it on their forums.

I've been using adsense on my forum for a long time, and I recently started wondering whether I could make more money by going with some of the traditional ad networks. I'm trying the networks now and discovering that they do pay more for me because they're CPM and not that many people click adsense (still enough to make some money though.)

Here's what I love about adsense though, because it's CPC they don't have an above the fold requirement. I created a traditional banner space at the BOTTOM of the message threads. My users ALWAYS read the last message of a thread right? So while many users probably skip right past those precious above the fold ads, they almost always see the adsense ad at the bottom of the thread. I understand why the ad network's CPM campaigns can't allow people to put ads below the fold, but on my site they're missing out on a great ad spot.

which networks are CPM? I thought it all went to affiliate marketing and PPC.

I've been trying out Tribal Fusion, Casale, and Mamma Media - all CPM (Mamma is a hybrid CPM and CPC).

And by "CPC" I mean PPC. I don't know what the correct term is these days - "per click".
