Are you seeing adverts on your site okay ?
Have you checked the code [to see if it is yours, and not hacked] ?
Checked your spam tray for any real Google emails ?

Great points and now hacking would seem an obvious answer. Went walking for a day to let off steam instead of thinking rationally.

Thank You

If it turns out you were hacked, first check your PC for any keyloggers etc.
Once confirmed your system is clean, alter every password you have for any account where you have to log onto. Google or otherwise.

Also, report the pub-id to Google, once found.

Is traffic the same? Maybe stats are lagging?

If your traffic is a lot lower than normal, it could be due to Google's new Caffeine search algo/data structure.
Or maybe your site was hacked and your htaccess file modified to divert search engine traffic to another site (mentioned somewhere on Webmaster World recently, but I can't find the thread).

The OP was on about having no clicks, not low/no traffic. The two are not really related.

Well, they might be related. If the average traffic was 10k pages a day with average earnings of $100 a day and then the traffic dropped to an average of 10 pages a day, earnings of zero wouldn't be a big surprise.

I can earn a lot more with 13k visitors a day than I can with 18k. Stats prove it. I also have stats that prove the opposite. Hence, they [traffic/clicks] are not really related.

i kinda agree except ... if there's a problem with the server and the traffic tanked as a result you would expect the earnigns to tank too.

also the OP didn't indicate traffic or earnings size at all ... thus if a site was earning a couple of dollars a day and it went down to nothing then i wouldn't think much about it, if however it was earning a considerable sum a day and went to nothing that is a whole other issue.

also to have earned money every day for 5 years with adsense and then suddenly one day to earn zero is of much greater concern than if the account is only a month old and then it earns nothing

as for the hacking idea muted - that's easy to check if the adsense control panel is showing any page views then i shouldn't think you have been ... even if you were hacked and the hack randomly inserted a different adsense code the chances of it being inserted for every click and not at other times is almost nil.

the OP needs to check his own log/stats for the day in question and compare it to the adsense stats - also other days to see if they are similar or not.
