Hi! Here's another one of your favorite 'stats stuck' threads!

What's going on today? My stats seem to be stuck at levels I'm used to seeing approximately four hours earlier... Also, the new interface seems to be slightly ahead of the old interface, although stats are still ridiculously low.

no St. Patrick's here; I'm in the Netherlands ;)

They're must all be hungover from yesterday and their trigger fingers are either stuck in their throats or up their a$$:-)

I'm not sure it's AdSense; some of my and my clients' ecommerce sites aren't seeing a lot of action today either.

Maybe they're related to 18th March Adsense's maintenance. And, prepare yourself for upcoming maintenance on 20th.

I hope reporting is running behind today, because if it isn't I'm going to have to shut down AS completely. It just isn't worth the real estate at this point.

Hi guys,

It probably has to do with it being the day after St. Pat's day (everyone is hung over) and the fact that today is the nicest day so far this year (weather wise) on the East Coast. Everyone in my office went on walks today for lunch. They typically eat in their office while browsing the web.

You'd better get them back to work, give 'em a good thrashing and get 'em clicking again since we're snowed in on our east coast and are awaiting the reindeer sleighloads of timber!

Australia is really really bad. Must be on the wrong side of the world and the penny jar is tipped north.

Earnings have increased only $1 in the last 12 hours. Yep... the hamster died...

Yup, this is the worst day of the whole year for me so far. CTR down over 50%! In fact I can't remember when my CTR was this pathetic.

I HOPE this is just a slow stat issue.

I see this stats stuck thread quite a few times here. Everybody comes up with their own ideas as to why clicks / earnings are down.
But looking at overall situation and geography (I am in india so St. Pat's day reason dont hold good for us for today or yesterday's low earnings). So normally this looks like a universal phenomenon affecting webmasters from all over the world.

My suggestion to ASA :
As it is you say its estimated earnings in reports then why not simply update the reports only say 3 or 4 times in a day and declare those time say from 11AM to 12 AM PDT.
(I know I know their servers will have massive load during those hours but I think they have enough technical capability to handle it.)
This may save lots of hours of lots of webmasters (like me) who cant wait to see the stats every hour or so. :)
I think many will agree with me here.

Ofcourse despite that we will see these threads and I personally loves these threads as it gives you assurance you are not alone. :)

Today is absolutely the worst day ever for AS on my site. If tomorrow starts off like today did, by noon AS will get ZERO impressions for the rest of the day. Other ad networks are showing normal clicks and activity, so it's isolated to just AdSense.

Hopefully things will get caught up overnight and there will be clicks showing tomorrow.

Yesterday (18th) clicks were down over 90 percent of normal. Today, I already have as many clicks as I did for the entire day yesterday, which isn't saying much.

I can see where impressions are dropping on the graphs, they're going to drop rather sharply this afternoon if this continues. Something is definitely broken.

Normally my stats are fine when these "stats" threads are active here. And my guess is a lot of people are having normal stats right now and just don't have a reason to participate in this thread.

What I'm saying is I don't know how universal it is.

Yep, that's always the problem trying to evaluate whether it's just one country/trade/widget or maybe just businesses being extra cautious since, despite government assurances, many economies are still dragging along with the hamster getting blamed for not pedalling fast enough whilst the poor little thing is drowning in sweat!

FWIW, the UK economy seems to totally rudderless at the moment running up to an election soon and it certainly would not surprise me one bit to see a double-dip recession occurring.

I have been watching my analytics, and analytics showed 6 clicks, but it's been 12 hours, and Adsense hasn't given me credit for them.

I wonder if this is happening for other people too, resulting in worse stats overall.

Farmboy, What i mean to say was that less clicks or earnings are happening universally. It is not really related to any particular holiday or particular country. So when say x number of webmasters are affected they are affected from all over the world not only US or any other specific country.
So its true that not all webmasters are affected all the time but at the same time very less likely that it is related to any local holiday or event.

Thanks
Rajiv

I think it is fair to say that the web changes every day. Some sites go up. Some go down. Some stay the same. It is the life of an Internet nomad. It is universal. It is not just Google messing with us.
